I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2007 and was put on Metformin. The only reason I was ever diagnosed was because I went to Dr. after Dr. after Dr. because I COULD NOT lose ANY weight!! I was eating to the "t" and exercising and was gaining and gaining. I am not the "typical" PCOS looking person so no Dr's would ever look at other things like my labs. Anyway, lost 20 lbs the first month after starting Met. Then my body started rejecting it and I was not gaining anymore so it was what it was.
Back in November 2010 my labs were normal. February, normal again. Last week...back to not normal at all.
We have been trying for 3 years-well, monitoring and all that jazz for around 14 months now, and all the sudden I started gaining weight like crazy, thanks to the PCOS.
Anyone else do the Riomet because your body won't tolerate the Met? I took it in 2008 and it made me soooo sick!
But, I am will to do anything I have to do to have a baby, at this point.

I hadn't heard of Riomet until you mentioned it here. Did you try Met ER or regular Met. I hear people have much better luck with Met ER.

I hope the Riomet works for you soon!

Glad to see you here with us!
I'm Natasha, one of the co-hosts here.
I'm 32, DH is Price who is 45, we have been ttc our first together for 27 months now.

I take regular Met, only after probably a couple years of tolerating Met XR pretty well.
I've never heard of a liquid form, that's interesting. I'll have to research it!

It's true that some of our ladies (myself included, in the past) tolerate Met XR/ER much better than the regular kind.

I hope that once you start back a form of Met that your journey with us here is short. But I'm so glad to have you here in the meantime!

I've only tried regular Met and it was AWFUL. I'm not going to try the ER since I haven't been tested for IR, but I've heard good things about it. I've never heard of Riomet though.
