So I had a weightloss appointment with my OBGYN today. I had been putting it off because I had been doing really bad at my diet and hadn't managed to lose any weight. So I finally quit putting it off and went in. Firstly I had to go off my Metformin because I just couldn't handle the side effects last time. So we're trying the Metformin ER. I'm starting a RX prenatal(she just gave me samples YAY). We upped my phenteramine so I'm on the highest dose now. She really wants me to hit the weightloss "balls to the wall" for a few months and then she wants to start talking fertility stuff. I don't even think she's necessarily wanting to jump to clomid asap because we're hoping my cycles return like they did the last time I lost weight. I did find out that they do IUI's there and that they're a lot cheaper than an RE(she said about $300). She was talking like they have lots of options there and aren't just a "do clomid and get out" type doctor. I am SO happy right now. I always felt like Clomid would be our last step because we dont have an RE around here and I just didnt think DH would be on board for traveling 2 hours and all that out of pocket cost and etc. I just feel like there's more hope for me, and I kinda like that she wants to start fertility stuff in the next few months. It feels nice to feel like we're gonna be proactive.
that is awesome Manda!!!! i know weight loss can be hard and frustrating but i know you can do this!!!! i think its fantastic that your doctor is being so proactive and focused and she seems just as determined as you are to shed some lbs and get you preggo! i'm rooting for you chic!!!!! what prenatals did she prescribe?
She didn't prescribe one certain kind. She gave me a whole month of samples and I'm not sure which kind it is. I know that its two seperate pills. She said she can't guarantee it'll be the same kind month to month but that it'll always be good. Can't beat free in my mind. Especially when I'm already picking up the phentermine, metformin and provera. I love it when doctors are willing to help me save money.
