I'm excited!

I was able to call my GP today to FINALLY get the ball rolling on getting into the fertility clinic. Even though I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2002, I still had to do the "1 year TTC before referral". In a way, the time was good, I learned that I CAN ovulate on my own (I've had 3 ovulatory cycles and a couple annovulatory), so that's good .. but at the same time the time "lost" was killing me. (Though hey, never know, I coulda gotten preggerz during that time...but didn't happen).

AND, to make things better - normally my doctor books MONTHS ahead because she's so busy, so I was expecting not to get in to see her for the referral until the new year, but instead I'm going in on FRIDAY to finally get this going.

So as long as she's true to her word.. I'm totally excited.

Then of course, I'm going to have to wait the 3-5 months to actually get into the clinic..but hey, FIRST STEP!

Well, my GP was true to her word and is sending the referral in. She also ordered all the bloodtests she knew that they would most likely order (except for the day 21 progesterone since I don't O until later than that normally) and told me to get DH in for an SA beforehand. That way all the testing is pretty much done and once we get in we can get right into it instead of having to do the bloodwork/SA and THEN get started.

Happy.

However, now I have to talk to DH about the SA. He was good about it when I mentioned they would want him tested as well - but not sure if he'll want to do one beforehand with HIS GP. Since doing one at the clinic has all the anonimity, doesn't deal with his own doctor or anything else.. so... hopefully he takes it well when I tell him tonight!

DH wants to wait...
He did agree to think about it though - he knows how badly I want to get going on this and he's all "well, we've only been REALLY trying for a couple months..." (he doesn't know how long i've been charting and timing things...LOL.. I just wasn't AS open about it..and i did tell him that i was charting and stuff long before I admitted to it..but..yeah).

So crossing my fingers that he'll come around.
