Are any of you SUV drivers? If so what kind? What year? What do you like/dislike?

I'm driving an older mini-van and I just don't like it that much. I was supposed to be getting an 08 impala but it looks like its going to fall through. So now we're looking at the idea of getting an SUV because of us liking to take longer trips and etc.

I wouldn't get an SUV strictly because of the cost before I considered any of the other possible issues. I was looking at prices this morning since you asked about it and the difference between our van (had we bought it new) and a new SUV is still substantial. That's between our moderately equipped van and a minimally equipped SUV. Our next upgrade I'm hoping for a fully equipped, new minivan. Ours just has lots of leg room and nobody has ever complained of an uncomfortable ride at this point.

Whatever you go with I hope you love it!

I have a Ford Expedition 2003 - I guess it is more a truck, but we do a lot of towing and such.

I love my truck, I hate that right now to fill it up, it costs $80.00 my wallet cringes when we go to the gas station.

but we all fit comfortably, even the 2 dogs, and a future baby would fit fine.

@Anna I'm driving a mini-van now and I hate it! The SUV would give us the ability to haul a trailer too which is something useful. Also SUV's seem to last a lot longer and hold their value pretty steady.

We have an '06 Honda Pilot and we love it!

Two winters ago when the big blizzard hit, I got stuck about 30 minutes from home (because I was at work and didn't get to leave early enough before it got bad) and ended up staying overnight. But in the process, I used my Pilot to climb the hill to the Walmart with 6-8" of snow on the road and it acted like it was like an inch or two! It did great!! Price and I became big time believers in this vehicle after that blizzard. We used it to do all our traveling while dealing with the 12-14" of snow we had to deal with at that time....

I know it's not new, but we like it. It has the 3rd row seat that when my SS's were younger we used to use a lot. Now it mostly stays down because it makes a great way to haul groceries, etc.

Any other questions hun, just ask!

I have an 08 Buick Enclave and I love it (for the most part) I love everything about the car itself and driving it but it has these rigid belt stalks that make installing car seats kind of hard and I'm a car seat nut. So far everything I've had in there works but the belt stalk gets in the way sometimes.
