Hello,

I was JM 6 years ago when I conceived DD. I had to take clomid to get pregnant and after 6 months of trying and 2 cycles of clomid it worked. When we tried for DS, I did not need any assistance, and got pregnant first try . Last fall DH and I tried a few months and nothing worked. Then last spring I started getting migraines ONLY around when I ovulated. This has me a little freaked out. I started developing painful cysts on my ovaries, and have been an all over mess. DD is turning 6 next week and DS is 3 1/2. We always wanted 3 and so I knew I needed to get this under control. I went to a reproductive endocrinologist and blood work looked great but the AMH levels showed that I was almost on the low side. I also have all the physical signs of PCOS but the bloodwork does not show it.

I am devestated because I am only 31, and scared to death of 1-having migraines mid-cycle forever, and 2-not being able to get pregnant. My OB had me on the pill for 2 months to see if that would straighten out an imbalance. The endocrinologist said I had to get off of it due to the risk of stroke with having migraines. I also went off of the Topomax as it is category D for pregnancy.

I have not had a period since coming off of the pill. I should be ovulating now but do not feel like I am, and my OB did an u/s and it did not show follicles last week.

So, I am back. I hope that I get pregnant without too much assistance. How long has it taken any of you to ovulate after coming off of the pill (I was only on it for 2 months)? Has anyone had migraines from having PCOS?

I appreciate your help and look forward to going through the process with you all!

Cole

Hey and welcome back!

Did you have a period at all after stopping the last "active" pill out of your bcp packs?
I have usually always started my period about 3 days after taking the last "active" pill.

As far as the migraines, I usually have hormone-induced migraines while on MA like clomid.... I'm so sorry you're having all the trouble with mid-cycle migraines. Like who feels like BD when that is the case, right??

I hope that you get some answers real soon hun. In my experience, the RE was my best choice. They just seem more knowledgable about PCOS and how to get things "lined up" correctly.

I look forward to getting to know you better and being with you along your journey for #3!!

Hi Natasha!

Thanks for your response! I am trying to figure this all out! I did have AF after stopping the pill. Then.. I showed a smiley face on Monday pm, nothing on Tuesday or Weds. Then yesterday had all the signs and again another smiley face and confirmed with FR OPK. I did the same today and once again smiley face and confirmed with FR OPK. Not sure what to think! Is it possible to ovulate twice?

Thank you for your advice and I look forward to talking more with you!

Hi! Before I was diagnosed with PCOS I received positive opks (glaring positive) for 2 weeks, I found out that is because a + opk is caused by a surge in LH---which I have naturally due to the PCOS. So the opk's may not be the best indicator for you if you are exhibiting signs of PCOS. I found the only reliable way for me was to temp.
