late last night

So no Christmas BFP/ birthday baby for me. What really sucks is knowing that at this exact same time last year I was hoping for the same thing thinking how perfect it would be and once again it doesn't work out. I'm really starting to lose hope.

I have my doctors appointment on Friday I already know they can't do anything since AF showed but I am hoping to talk just talk to her and get her to schedule an HSG test. I hope for this cycle. I am so over waiting and waiting. I hate my other doctor for not addressing my concerns earlier.

I was talking to a co-worker and she is going through very similar situation except her husband also has issues. She is having an IUI this month and her doctor told her that for most women with PCOS clomid alone doesn't work and it is most successful with a trigger shot and she also said that if you aren't monitored on clomid it could cause more damage than good so now I am even more pissed that my doctor just prescribed me clomid and that was it no monitoring no additional testing...NOTHING.

I wish I could change practices all together but its the only one in the area Tricare will accept so I guess I will have to settle for at least switching doctors.

I know how you feel. I had an ectopic back in April, ended up with my left tube being completely blocked, and it made my PCOS much worse than before (likely the weight gain from sitting on my *** for 6 weeks did not help). Fast forward 2 months with no af, doc finally says "ok you can have provera" like that'll help me ovulate...um no. It did nothing but force me to bleed. Another 2 months, she throws 3 whole months of clomid in my face and says "call me when you're pregnant." ***!? I was furious that I knew more about the situation than this doc, and that I should be monitored. I immediately got my records and went to another practice.

The next ob/gyn was good at the first visit, scheduled an HSG, did a transvaginal ultrasound, called for blood draws, so I was excited that maybe I'd get the monitoring I needed. Yeah, it ended there. The only monitoring he did was to take a progesterone draw a week after my ovulation to prove i ovulated (well no **** sherlock, I temp, I could've told you I ovulated). Then after my second month of clomid I called him telling him I had some bad side effects from the drug, and he said to stick through it (really really bad idea with clomid), because there weren't many other options after that (uh...what?! Blatant lie.) I also asked if there was any way to track my follicle growth before ovulation and he said "no not really." Wow buddy, you are completely wrong.

So I moved on to an RE. I was hesitant, but finally I met a doctor that knew more than I did about reproductive medicine! I was on my third month of clomid when she saw me and she immediately let me do an iui since it was my third month (and likely last month). It was unsuccessful, so this month she did every test under the sun so we can figure out the best path for us. I finally feel like my BFP is around the corner, even with the problems I have going against me. The right doctor makes all the difference. Find a doctor that will take you seriously, and if you have to travel a bit farther for it, it is worth it. Good luck on everything, I really hope you find the right doc soon.

I totally agree that the right doctor can make all the difference!
I saw one RE that seemed relatively not concerned and did one tvus after I took clomid, saw a 14 mm follie and said that the cycle was a bust and I may as well just plan for the next cycle. Well genius, I'm a late ovulator, think it would help to do another us in a few days??

Good luck hun with your appointment on Friday! I hope it goes well and you get a game plan set into motion!

I know how you feel with tricare!! Nothing but frustration.. Good luck with changing doctors. I wish you the best. I finally just got a doctor who started me on some treatment just today actually. He seems really good. I felt so helpless when all tricare would give me was nurse practitioners.. not even real doctors! I just about gave up but a good doctor gave me hope. Dont lose hope. That feeling is the worst.

I LOVED this doctor. I am not trilled that she still didn't put me on Metformin but from what they are saying my blood work was fine in that area and both doctors agreed. So I'm not arguing it. Clomid is staying at 100mg and I am having the HSG test done next week and a 21 day check to see how my progesterone levels are she said we'll reevaluate after the follow- up blood work. So I hope this works and maybe this will be our month.
