Ladies I think the 500mg of Metformin may have done the trick. My cramps were so much better when AF came at the end of cycle #6 and she stuck around for a full 4 days, when prior to Metformin I only had two full days and then one day of spotting. But here is the best part, I started using opk's again (dr said after I had been on Met for a while they could be reliable again) this cycle and they were negative (I started getting a + on CD8 of last cycle) then I got a + on CD12 and had EWCM...didn't realize but I wasnt having this before now. My temp hasn't spiked yet, but I think it will tomorrow morning as I am having some cramping today which is normal for me around O. Prior to Met. and when the OPK's still worked for me I would get 2 days of + opk's and then O on the third day, but this cycle I only got the 1 day of +, yesterday was - and now I think I am o'ing today which is cd14..so it seems I still have my 3 day window!

I am way excited that the Metformin seems to be doing the trick to get my hormones in line for a regular cycle. Fingers crossed that Cycle #7 is the lucky one!

LOL Thanks girls, he is still at work but has been warned that he has a job to do. Meanwhile I am drinking lots of water to help with the CM.

I don't know if it is because the girls on the TTC board have been telling me that #7 is going to be it for me or if it is just wishful thinking, but I have a really good feeling about this cycle.

Only a small increase today, but it is higher than what my pre-o temps have been this cycle (the other 96.9 one happened on the day I came down with a cold/ear infection so I don't know how much to trust that temp). And I got another + opk yesterday so only time will tell...

I used to get 2-3 days of positive OPKs then the 4th day would be my temp rise! So keep DTD just incase I'm so anxious for you!!!

Oh yea def positive! I would almost guess that if OPKs are in fact working for you that you will have a spike tomorrow or the next day. (that's just saying from MY own personal experiences with OPKs and temping)

This was the cycle I got PG, 3 days of positives and that 3rd day was O....

It's good to hear that Metformin actually can help! I was diagnosed last fall with PCOS. I had a polyp removed from my uterine lining & D&C. No Metformin prescribed yet. I started clomid the first of this month. Went in for an ultrasound and was sad to see no new follicles coming along. They decided it would be best to push forward with injectibles (Menopur, bravelle, etc..) and they provided me with a "donation" of Bravelle. I did 5 injections with no results! They wanted to double my dose, but I can't afford $400/month. I called them today to see if they will look into trying Clomid with the Metformin! I hope that you get your dream baby soon....and I hope Im not too far behind you!

Good luck Kirsten! I really hope they find a combination that works for you soon and you get that dream baby. I have been told by others that ifyou go on Metformin to make sure your doc gives you Metformin ER not the regular Metformin---it seems the ER, Extended Release, has a lot less side effects than the regular. My experience also is that it is very cheap too, my pharmacy tried to give it to me without running my insurance through and it was only $16 or $18.

LOL still battling a cold and was beginning to lose faith on whether the meds actually worked and I was getting ready to O or if I was just loosing my mind. Now that I know I can O on a normal schedule, and I will be able to figure out how long my cycle is on Metformin I will be ready for next cycle should it become necessary.

I'd say cycle day 16 was it!!! Hmmm that temp sure was high today. I wonder when FF will put up crosshairs! And you're still in the game... plenty of women get a BFP from DTD a couple days before... gives the lil guys time to get to the egg!!!

Thanks Aubrey, I was excited by todays temp increase too...the funny part is that I am fighting this nasty cold and woke up all congested this morning and my mouth dry. So appparently I was breathing through my mouth last night, since I can't breath outta my nose, which makes me wonder how high my temp would have been otherwise?
