Hi! I'm Chelsey! I joined JM back in 2009 and was frequent on the TTC Your First board for a while but just recently started lurking around and decided to make a new s/n. DH and I got married in July 2009 and started ttc the month before that in June of 2009. It took us 20 months and three rounds of Clomid to conceive our precious little girl and she was born this past October 2011 (:

I was not diagnosed with PCOS until last month. After my c-section with my daughter in October I had the normal 4-5 weeks of pp bleeding. I then started bleeding again at 8 weeks which I thought was weird since I am EBF but I just figured it was AF anyway. The bleeding stopped after a few days and then came back again at 10 weeks pp so I called my doctor and she scheduled an ultrasound to check for anything that would be causing the bleeding. During the u/s the tech said I appeared to have polycystic ovaries.......so that's what brings me here! I never knew much about PCOS until this past month and Of course started reading up on it.

My baby just turned 3 months old at the end of January so we aren't ttc yet, but not preventing either. Does anyone have experience with PCOS and ttc #2? Like I said, I'm EBF and haven't gotten af back yet, but ideally DH and I would like to have our children 1-2 years apart.

Thanks for reading (:

Hey I'm Sarah, I was DX PCOS and it took us 3yrs trying before my 1st. He's 13mo. now. We started TTC #2 5mo ago when he turned 9mo. since we also want to have ours close together. I had normal pp bleeding, and then had one cycle right around the time we wanted to TTC (normal bleed time but it lasted 80 days until I went to my OB for provera.). I only BF for the 1st 3mo because I dried up due to not being able to find time to pump at work. I already knew what was going on since we went thru this the last time so when I saw my OB I already had a plan in mind. I am on 500mg Metformin, and Phentermine. This was in Nov. I've already lost 26lbs, and have started cycling again. This is the 1st month that I know I O'd, so FX for both of us.

Hi Sarah! Hopefully this time around won't take you nearly as long.

I want to nurse my daughter as long as she will and as long as I keep producing milk so its no telling when AF will return for me, but I would like to be pregnant with our second before she turns 1....I just don't know what, if anything, my doctor could do while I'm nursing. DH and I really can't find the time to dtd much so I'm not counting on getting pg too quickly but I'm just praying that God will bless us soon. My sister and I are 20 months apart and it has always made me want to have my kids close in age too.

We're TTC #5 (our third since my diagnosis) with the aid of Clomid. My youngest was my first time successfully breastfeeding and she nursed for 15 months. I didn't get AF back until 14 months. Unfortunately, there isn't much that they can do to help while you're breastfeeding. You can try Met, but that alone may not be enough. The extra prolactin you put out when breastfeeding could still be enough to keep your estrogen so suppressed that you don't ovulate. Clomid and other ovulation inducing medications are out when breastfeeding. Some women take Soy or Vitex, but how they'll affect your supply is questionable. For some women they notice no difference while others dry up or they develop an oversupply. It's a total shot in the dark.

When my youngest weaned my cycles went immediately back to their old form and it was immediately obvious that we'd need help again. Other women claim to be "cured" by childbirth, but I question that since they often still have a lot of problems that can be attributed to PCOS. Few and far between cycles, etc.

Anyways, I hope that answers your question!
