I've been doing really good on my low carb diet. At least until the past couple weekend. Why am I having so much trouble with carb loading on the weekends? The weekend just started and already I've totally blown my diet. I really want to do better for the rest of the weekend, but I'm afraid I don't have the will power. The only good thing I can say is that at least homemade shrimp scampi with rice for dinner tonight is better than the cake I ate last weekend.

I'm praying that I'm PG this cycle, but if I'm not the only upside is that I will have a few more weeks to go back on my Phentermine and maybe loose some more weight. The more I loose the easier it should be to get PG in the future.

I hope this is it for you, too!!

I know for me, weekends are harder and I have more difficulity because Saturday and Sunday are not nearly as structured as my Monday-Friday is forced to be. With routinely getting up, getting ready for work, working all day, Zumba, then home, day in and day out... it's easier to stick to my changed diet. (but my diet as of recently is the Body By Vi Shakes for Breakfast and Dinner, and eating lunch {that's easier with my work schedule}).

It really is the missing structure of the weekends that gets to me. I have always been an emotional/boredom eater and I have too much time on my hands. Plus food is an obsession of mine. When I was in highschool I went thru several years of anorexia along with a couple of my friends. When I pulled out of that I started making my mom watch what I ate and make sure I didn't restrict anymore. Once I was out of the house ( I moved to a little village outside of Paris, France for 10mo doing mission/nanny work for a preachers family, then moved to STL. Mo. for cosmetology school when I got back, only to get married 2mo after I graduated and move back to TN with my DH) I was so scared of rebounding into restriction, which I did for a while in France, that I ended up overindulging on food. Once I started TTC I realized I needed to find a balance. It's not easy. I kick myself for my overindulgence, and then have to fight not to restrict the next day which usually ends up by more overindugence. But I'll take a few carb loading days over a true eating disorder again any day.

You may need to just change what you keep in the house. If it's not there it's a lot easier to resist.

Sadly we have cleaned out the house. Other than the bag of rice we don't have any snack foods at home right now, and haven't since Oct. The problem I have is when I run to the store to pick up something we need, something the baby has run out of and I give in and buy the sweet stuff for myself. The really bad part is that DH is on the same diet as me for his own weight loss and to support me in the fact that I shouldn't eat this stuff, so I end up eating it in the car on the way home or hiding it from him when I get there so he won't be disapointed in me. Which just proves that I know better, and that I'm still having problems that I keep thinking I've gotten over.

You should give yourself one free day, and let that be either Saturday or Sunday, that way you don't feel bad about eating those things, and then it won't be so hard to stay away from them either through out the rest of the week. I give myself freeday Saturday because I know that I'll be going out with friends for coffee and usually we end up going out for dinner. Then Sunday comes along and I start myself out with just eggs and turkey bacon for breakfast and plan the rest of my day out. Another thing that helps out as well, is when you reach for something sugary/high in simple carbs, tell yourself that you'll write it down so that when Saturday comes you can have it. Typically for me by the time Saturday comes around most those things don't sound good and the ones I've been thinking about all week are soooo delicious and sate my sugar cravings that I had been having.
It also makes me feel better that I actually got to enjoy something that was bad for me rather than eating that gross chocolate that has been sitting around that you don't really want to eat cuz it doesn't taste good, but it's there and you just really want something sweet. So then you eat it and then feel twice as guilty because it didn't even taste good!
Hope this helps
