Ok, alert....

This is the second month in a row of taking clomid. Last month I got a pretty bad yeast infection around ovulation. I looked up what causes yeast infections and too much estrogen can cause it.. which makes sense since clomid causes your body to create extra estrogen to promote egg folicle stimulation.. It is just REALLY bad!! Last month the irritation lasted from ovulation to AF!! This month, it is sooooo bad! I literally want to cry it hurts so bad. I wish I had a doctor I could go to to get something because those creams are not working. I won't do anything with DH because it hurts too bad. It is so red and swollen down there that it feels literally like skin is splitting. This is the worst it has ever been and I know for sure it is not an STD.

Has anyone else experienced this?? I don't think I can take clomid again. I wonder if a different drug would help next cycle (if I am not pregnant this time).. It really hurts.

Did you DTD at all during any of your recent infections? Who has you on Clomid?

I have heard that if you dtd while having a YI, DH can then become a carrier and may also need medication to cure it. Is this even a small possibility? I'm by no means an expert. Maybe if you don't respond well to clomid overall, then maybe you could ask for femara?

I would think Femara could have the same effect. Anything to induce ovulation is going to affect estrogen levels. Her DH could definitely be a carrier if they DTD during an infection and whoever prescribed the Clomid should be able to help with the resulting yeast infection. In the future taking cranberry (or drinking it, but it's nasty and hard to find), eating plenty of yogurt, and drink a TON of water MIGHT help. If she's that sensitive, though, I don't know. :/

Ughh.. I hate being in Germany without speaking the language. I want to see a doctor but American Military doctors won't see anyone without a month advance appointment, and I only have so many referrals to the German doctor and I need to go either late this week or early next week. We have not DTD during or even at the begining of it.. so, I don't worry about DH carrying anything. It isn't nasty gross like usual but a little yucky and really painful! I am treating it at home and it is barely getting better. I think I will set an appointment with my German Gyno and tell him about it all. Then, maybe he can give me something for this and I can talk to him about something other than clomid.

Thanks. It's getting better but till oh so painful. Working with kids all day after tossing around and getting up all night is no fun.. I talked o my mom and she said how she had one like that once and it took two seven day treatments to fix it! I'm trying.

You can start taking Garlic pills as well as Acidophilis. Make sure that you cut sugar out of your diet that includes fruits since that is what yeast feeds on. I get an out break of Candida (over growth of yeast) from time to time, it get bad enough that my inner ears itch continuously. So I take garlic pills and Acidophilis and cut out sugar when it flares and it usually helps kick it out.
Sorry that it's so bad, hopefully you'll get some relief soon
