This may be a stupid question, but if a person does not have PCOS, are follicles visible in the ovaries after ovulation?
Just curious. I have PCOS and had an u/s yesterday--I didn't know I had PCOS until after I was pregnant last time, so didn't pay too close attention. I had 20 follicles in each ovary (after ovulation) on yesterday's scan.
They could be cysts. Usually once you ovulate they should be gone bc the egg erupted out of the follicle but i am not 100% sure. Did you happen to ask the tech or will your doctor get back to you soon?
How far after ovulation was your scan? I don't think the follies disappear right away, but they should definitely dissolve. One of the symptoms of PCOS is a bunch of follicles that don't dissolve and turn into cysts, though. So if it was like a day or something after O might be normal but if not I'd say PCOS related. Of course I'm not a doctor so that's just my opinion based on what I've learned over the years.
