I haven't posted in a while or been on because I was becoming so overwhelmed with everything.
I was diagnosed with PCOS in October, but was not correctly diagnosed when I was 15 years old, so I have had this condition since I was a teenager.
My hubby and I went to see an re specialist yesterday. I absolutely love him! He was so comforting, informative and encouraging. He did a ton of blood work on me (12 viles) and my hubby. He is testing for everything and wants to get the whole picture, which I am happy about. He did say that my PCOS is severe and I am at a great risk for multiples (trying to get prepared for that).
We aren't going to make a plan until all the blood work comes back, which will be in two weeks. So I will know more than. However, he did say that he would try another pill medicine(not clomid, since my body isnt responding to it-did 2 rounds already) before moving onto the shots. I also told him I stopped taking the metformin bc of the way I felt on it. I would go back on it since he said it would be helpful, but we arent going to make that decision until we meet again. He said we would increase the dosage slowly, which I am happy about as well.
So overall, it was a great visit and I can't wait for the two weeks to be over so we can start on our plan of action and hopefully conceive our first child or possibly children !
Congrats! Excited that you enjoy your new doctor! I am also seeing an re now and she metioned letrozole aka femara since i too did not respond to clomid.
I am not on met but did you take the extended release tablet to help with side effects? Not sure if that would make a difference for you. Good luck and wishing you much success and maybe even a bfp for us before treatment
I did not try the extended release table, but I will talk to my RE about it. I am having some intestinal issues and after speaking with the RE today, I may not go back on it at all. If my gastro says it will aggravate an already existing issue, the RE doesn't want me to take it.
