Sorry this took so long, but I just got home.
I went in Sunday, October 2 at 9:00pm for my scheduled induction. We checked in and at 10:00pm they inserted a pill to start softening my cervix. The plan was to insert the pill every 4 hours and then at 8:00am they would start me on the pitocin. The nurse came in at 2 am to check me and insert another pill and I was already 3cm dialated and having some contractions. She decided not to insert another pill and just wait to see what happened. The contractions started to get more painful and around 4am my water broke. By then I was 5cm dialated and in alot of pain. I asked for the epidural but the anastesiologist (sp?) was in a surgery so I had to wait. He finally showed up at 730am and by then I was 7.5 cm dialted and in horrible pain. The epidural is a life saver! I was fully dialated by 11am and they started having me push. I pushed for a good hour but during the entire process Isabella turned slightly and she was stuck at my pelvic bone. The Dr went in and tried to turn her manually, which is not a cool feeling, but was unable to turn her. They had me push a few more times but then her heart beat started to drop and I was rushed to have an emergency c-section. The c-section was an entire different experience. The Dr. began to cut me and I felt everything the entire time. After I screamed and hollered for a few minutes they gave me some more medicine and then I went numb. They had a really hard time getting her out because she was really stuck. They had to use forceps to get her out. When she finally came out she wasnt breathing and they had to rush her to NICU. Isabella was born October 3 at 1:33pm. She weighed 7lbs 4 oz. She had to stay in NICU for a few hours until they got her stable, so I didnt get to see her until 530pm. The entire experience was really scary but it was all worth it. I love her sooo much!
