Altar & Tools
An altar is a designated space that you have where you keep your spiritual items, do spells, meditate and much more. It is your shrine.
The items that you have on your altar are completely up to you. Make sure the items resonate with you and what you believe. Don’t just put something on your altar because some book or website told you too, your religion is yours, so you do what you need to do and have.
A basic rundown of items that are generally on an altar:
Pentacle – can represent the elements, or the circle of life. Can be a plaque, or drawn on paper, or a piece of jewelry.
Athame - used to focus power, point and direct it towards a specific goal/spell. This is a knife.
Boline – another knife specifically used to cut herbs.
Wand – used to focus power.
Chalice -used for wine to drink, or water to represent the element of water.
Cauldron- used for powdered incense, oils, brews, water, flowers, represent feminine energy.
Book of Shadows -
Herbs – Herbs have magical and healing energies.
Candles – represent the element Fire, and also different colors represent different energies.
Incense – represents element Air, also, for purification.

Amulets – jewelry charged w/ specific energy to assist or protect you.
Bell – to clear energy.
Bowls – to hold whatever you need, represent feminine divine, hold water etc…
Robes – ritual garb if you so choose.
Crystals – crystals have different healing and metaphysical properties.
Something to represent the elements.
Oils – essential oils have medicinal and metaphysical properties.
Lighter/matches – light candles.
Mortar & Pestle - to grind herbs for spells.
Music - to help with meditation and spell casting
Pendulum - for scrying
Sea salt - represents earth or water, and removes negativity, also cleans space
Statues – representing the God(s), elements or whatever you want.
Talismans – good luck charms.
Flowers
Decorations – some people decorate their altars according to the seasons.
You can put whatever you want on your altar, or you don’t even have to have an altar! They sure can be pretty though
