Your home is burning on fire and you have enough time to pull out 3 special items. What are they?

Are the special items people or just things?

If People it would be:
AJ
Sienna (dog)
my purse (cause we could move the cars out of the way/get in them)

Non People:
Purse
photo albums
camera

Realistically you only have enough time to get you and your kids out safely, pets are secondary. DO NOT TRY TO SAVE THINGS IN A FIRE, GET OUTSIDE IMMEDIATELY.

People HAVE to come first to get out of a burning structure; pets, I am sorry must be secondary, if you can grab them safely and take them with you...great. The average time a person has in a house fire to get out is dependent on the house layout, what room you are in relation to a fire. Death by smoke inhalation can happen in 2 minutes or less from the time you are aware that there is a fire in your residence.

Make sure your family does practice a fire escape plan, and contact your local fire department for guidance in making one, they will be happy to help!

So I am changing it to things I would hope would survive a house fire:

photos
heirloom quilts/linens
jewelry

No way I'm stopping at 3. I'd grab:

DD #1
DS #2
DD #3
DS #4
DS #5

And I'd drag Josh out too, while I was at it.

Sorry its my job, and if I can plug a fire escape plan and smoke detectors...I will! I have come to realization long ago that stuff can be replaced, even jewelry and heirloom linens/quilts....

LOL Shawna!

Um, I probably wouldn't grab anything. But the three things I'd hate to lose would be my wedding album, the external hard drive I have my most recent pictures stored on, and the rosary we had made from the rose petals at Gracie's funeral.
