Which of our 06ers are in sports this summer/fall? How do they do? How did you know that they were ready?

I was just glancing through the activity booklet that came in the mail for the community services in our area, and I see there's a Sept/Oct soccer camp for 3's and 4's. Nathaniel has been really getting into playing sports lately, especially soccer and t-ball, in our backyard. But I just don't know if he's ready for a team or camp type thing. My nephew who is a little over a year older than Nathaniel tried soccer this summer and couldn't focus his attention long enough to really get it. He dropped out after the second week. Nathaniel is really different from his cousin but I wouldn't want to put Nathaniel in if he wasn't ready. He *just* turned three, maybe I should just wait until next year? It's 45 minutes long for 6 Saturday mornings in a row. Any advice is appreciated!

Can they not offer you a free class to attend? Actually, Natasha attended gymnastics since the fall of last year (she went a full year, right after her 2nd birthday). I've asked her instructor the same question, and while they couldn't offer a free class, she told me that in their policy, if a child does not like the class, they'll give a full refund (well, minus the deposit), so on those terms I signed her up. If the soccer program has similar terms, maybe you could have him attend a class or two and see how he does, he might surprise you. I thought Natasha wouldn't concentrate and misbehave, but she just loved it and learned so much! Including the concept of waiting for her turn, which back then she didn't know.

She's off for the summer now, but she'll be going back to gymnastics in the fall. Her classes are 45 minutes. My mom also signed her up for Dance School, which she's starting in September as well. The classes are also once a week for about 45 min. I have nooo idea how she'll do there!!! It's a pretty serious dance school - they have little ballet-like outfits and at the end of the year (June) they put up a show for the parents. I am actually pretty excited about it!! hehe.
