Some encouragement for those frustrated by the stats flying around in the wake of health care debate raging in the US. An informal survey just to get a better idea of what the percentage is like among faithful Catholics.
"In a population of about 1000 women, fairly evenly distributed across age groups and generations, we found that of these women, 96.4 % of whom AT LEAST attend Mass weekly, only 18% were contracepting."
I have almost never got into this discussion while at church, at coffee hour last week I said to a lady talking to me that the one inside was going to be our last and she started talking about how it was hard to follow what the Bishop said blah blah, and I was like, no wait, I didn't mean I was doing anything other than NFP to stop it...I'm still gunna follow...the attitude that it is OK to ignore this is certainly out there...I wish I was closer friends with the 82%...
Thanks for sharing this. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who participate in these very contraceptive slanted polls who are only Catholic by name, and not by heart at all. I think (and hope) this poll is way more accurate! TFS!
