Hi there! I am Kayla. 31 (almost 32) and have 3 kids and expecting my 4th. My first 2 children are with my ex husband and my youngest and one on the way is with my current spouse. I became a Catholic in 2007 and in all honesty...I am a clueless Catholic We are so bad about going to church and I seem to have forgotten everything I have learned.
ANYWAY, I live in Utah (yes surrounded by the LDS faith) and it can be a bit challenging for my kids. So much influence around and it gets incredibly frustrating for me.
It is great to have found this board. Perhaps I can learn some things or refresh my memory so I don't look like a fool at church. Be prepared, I may have some pretty silly questions!
That was a pretty random intro, but I am sure in time I will be able to narrow things down
Hi and welcome! I'm Renee, I have one daughter and I'm expecting my second in August.
I grew up Catholic so I knew it well. I left the church for a while in my teenage years and sort of fumbled my way back a while later. Once my daughter was born I started going to church again more regularly, but I feel I have a lot to learn (or re-learn) as well.
You belong on another one of my boards too, down below this one is Western Mommies...I swear I do things other than invite people to boards, despite what I've done so far! Anyway, I'm Christen, and I'm up a little north of you in Idaho, also surrounded by many LDS people.
I was born in a house where faith is complicated. My parents were the same faith (Methodist) when they were married, but my mother converted shortly after, against my dad's wishes. Anyway, I was raised Catholic, but originally was Baptized in a Methodist church. And while I try not to be "clueless" sometimes I totally feel that way! I feel like I know my faith and then somebody asks me a question I don't have an answer for...and normally then, I try to find it out. I think we all have to keep growing in our faith, we're all being called to a deeper level of faith from wherever we are. Hopefully if you have any questions we can help you out!
Hi and Welcome! I feel weird saying that because I'm super new around here too!
I'm Kendel, mom of 4 with one on the way. My husband and I are converts (2010), so hey, jump in here and learn right along with me! The Catholic faith is so beautiful! Have you heard of catholicscomehome.org ? I use it a lot, and I think it's just all in all a good easy to use resource.
Anyhow, glad you're joining us!
