I have two hair questions, one inspired by the tattoo thread and something I've always said about why I'm not a good candidate for a tattoo, which is how often do you change your hair?
The second is Courtney's first Communion is under 2 weeks from now at this point. She has a vale, but Idk that I've ever done hair with a vale, any suggestions? I want her to feel beautiful inside and out .
I've worn my hair the same way (long, no bangs) for all of my adult life. I haven't had bangs since I grew them out in middle school. Sometimes it is shoulder length, and I've grown it down to my butt before. I've added some grey "highlights". That's the only change I've made over the years.
When my first DD received First Communion I made her a veil. I did a kind of twisted half-pony... took hair from the sides and twisted them to meet in the back, leaving the rest of the hair down. Secured with a barette and then secured the veil over that. Lemme see if I can find a pic...
I will be taking my girls to a hair salon to get their hair done for their First Communion It's a special day and I want them to look beautiful and I am no hairstylist!!
I love these:

I've only changed my hair probably 2-3 times in the last 5 years or so. Of course I get trims but I tend to like long hair a lot so I like to keep it at that length.
For Communion I wore a veil and my Mam curled my hair. The effect looked kind of like this:

Me either, if I had the money I'd probably do that, Courtney'd love it...but without a job...
As for my first question, I've actually kept it fairly similar for a long time, but I like to rotate between 3 different things, a little longer, highlighted blonde, highlighted with a more bright red than my natural red, so even when I say the "same" it isn't the same.

I used to change my hair all the time. My ex-roommate is a hair stylist and it was sooooo convenient having her right there at home! So, my hair has been long, short, curly (naturally), straight, highlights (blond, red, pink, purple), spikey, flipped at the ends...you name it and I've done it to my hair. Now, it's in a perpetual ponytail with grey roots. lol
I have always had longish hair. Last year I cut it short - got a reverse bob. I like it, but I think I am going to start growing my hair again.
My DD will be receiving Communion next month. She refused a a traditional veil as they won't sit right on her head. I bought a beautiful Communion headband, and my MIL made the veil piece (she also made the Communion dress from my wedding dress) My daughter has thin hair that won't keep a curl, so I will probably just blow it straight and put the headband in. Straight or curly, she'll still look beautiful.

I don't change mine very often. I alternate between growing it out long and cutting it into a cute inverted bob, messy at the back cuz I have wavy hair. There aren't many in between cuts that I like, so I like messy inverted bob or as-long-as-I-can-get-it! Right now it's the longest it's been in years and badly needs a trim. I get it colored or highlighted sometimes, but nothing really drastic. The pic in my avatar is from March 24, so you can see how long it is right now.
I have curly/wavy hair - actually it was a lot more curly prior to kids and now it is more just wavy. But I had the same exact hairstyle from highschool up until 2 years ago. It would vary in length a little bit but basically just below my shoulders with no bangs and some layering. Then, I had enough one day and asked my stylest to chop it off - anythink she thought would look good. Don't know how to describe the style now but it is pretty short - not "boy" short but well up off my shoulders - too short to pull back in anyway. I love it. My husband loves it and begs me never to grow my hair out again - which is saying a lot because now that I have a short hair cut it requires a cut every 6-8 weeks vs. the twice a year cut I used to get!

I go back and forth between growing out my hair and then chopping it off to shoulder length or just above. Right now it's the longest it's ever been and I have a love/hate relationship with it.
