This question would have been better for Lent, but something led my mind to it today at breakfast. If it is a Friday during Lent and you have something made with like chicken broth, but it has no meat in itself, is that OK?

no. Not eating meat includes broth and other sauces or liquids that include animal fat or meat etc.

Yeah, I do my best to leave those things out of dinner for friday's but I have forgotten before. I made a noodle casserole that had cream of chicken soup in it. Of course, I left the chicken chunks out of it, so hopefully the Lord saw my heart , but there was totally those teeny pieces of chicken in that soup! Oy. We try, but sometimes fail...
