Father John left our Parish today. The kids got to meet our new priest at school today. He's a young priest and this will be his first Parish of his own. He's been in a larger Parish with three priests and he was the local hospital chaplain. Jaidyn said he 'seems nice' so that's a good start!! I can't wait to get to know him.
It's interesting to me that you are looking to "get to know him." Our parish is a small one in my city, but I guess it's big in comparison to some places because we "don't know" any of our priests outside of Mass at all!
We have a very small parish and just one priest. It is nice getting to know your priest. We've had ours over for dinner/taken him out to dinner a number of times and it's always nice to hear about him, his family and his life as a missionary priest.
Mom to 3 beautiful kids
Expecting our newest baby girl, diagnosed with Down Syndrome with Verifi, October 2014!
Our's is a small Parish and the priest works closely with the school, so parents will get to know him through that. Father John used to 'do the rounds' and made sure he visited every parishioner's home at least once a year which took me back to my childhood when the priest did the same. I'm hoping Father Kenny will be happy to do the same.
