We have some homeschoolers here on this board, right? Random question, do you take a summer vacation?

Most years we do but some years we've used the summer months to finish out the school year.

I am only in year 2 of home school, and we did some reading comprehension and vocab over the summer in anticipation of a busy time with a newborn this fall. We won't ever take a complete summer break from learning, but our summers will be more relaxed. I have very difficult first trimesters, so, it may mean our "summer" comes during those times.

Yeah, my kids still do learning activities in the summer, but obviously they aren't IN school, and I had a friend who implied they don't change habits at all ALL year long, so I was just surprised. That alone would be reason for me NOT to homeschool. One thing that I would have thought would be neat about it is that you could put your "summer break" wherever the heck you wanted it!
