I have such a hard time with Mass and staying cool while pregnant (which I am). Anybody have any tips? (When I get too hot, I vomit.)

I wish someone would answer. I am almost 23w pregnant and this summer will probably be miserable. Our tiny parish rarely runs the a/c and even when they do, it's still pretty hot. I usually dress casually for mass though when I'm pregnant and it's hot...capris, cotton tops, flip flops, nothing inappropriate but just more comfortable. I don't do it often but I will take a bottle of cold water to drink when I know it's going to be unbearable and if I get nauseous or lightheaded, I sit down and sometimes I just walk outside to get some air.

Good luck and congratulations!!

Hey I am lurking but I will probably join in here more often if there is regular threads.

I had the same problem when I was pregnant. I coulnt sit by anyone because the slightest odor (perfume, hairspray, anything) set me off. I also couldnt kneel because it cut blood flow and I would get dizzy and need to throw up.

What I have learned is to do what you need to do. I would go to the mass with the least amount of people and try to get a whole pew to myself. I also had to get up a lot of time and go to the bathroom for air and water. Dont feel bad.

Yeah, since I stepped down as host forever ago and since JM gets less popular there just isn't regular posting. I wish there still was, I love having an area for Catholic mommies, though I have a newish one on facebook, but it isn't as general as this is.
