I've decided to start potty training Oliver this weekend, I've got to get him a potty but I've bought a heap of little jocks in his favourite cartoons like spiderman, buzz lightyear and lightning mcqueen
Mummies of boys, any tips?

We started with Dominic when he was 2 and a half. Got charts, stickers, the singing potty etc and went all out. He was using it, but he was also still peeing in his undies. After I exhausted myself for a few weeks and nothing happening, I gave up. Right before his third birthday he all the sudden went by himself, and has been going ever since without accident.
I don't have a son but we tried everything like Kasie. We did charts, rewards, potty dance and song all sorts of stuff and I think it scared her more than helped her. One day, she woke up and decided for herself she didn't want to wear diapers anymore and we put undies on her and she started going and hasn't looked back since. No accidents or anything!

Good luck!!! Taylor has been using the potty since 18 months but is FINALLY keeping underwear dry all day, even when we go out, and she's 3 so I think I'll wait to start with Rylie until 2.5... it just seems like less of a headache. You chose the perfect time, Emma! I hope it goes well... I'll be coming to you with questions in 2 years for Seth LoL!
I don't have a boy, but my sister has two (2.5 & 3.5), her oldest is potty trained - but he mainly did it himself. He just didn't want to pee in diapers anymore, & he hated the feeling of peeing in his pants, so he just went! But only on a big toilet, he's scared of potties lol.

I never did charts or anything like that. I always just left the potty close to where he was playing and let him go diaperless for a few hours. It took a few weeks before he stopped having accidents on the floor (good thing we don't have carpet) and was using the potty everytime.
Once he started wearing underwear instead of being naked it took a few more weeks before he realised he had to take them off to pee
He was fully potty trained by 2.5, I think we started shortly after his second birthday.
