Thanks, girls. Daniel was born tuesday and stayed with us for 32 minutes. It was a very peaceful and special time. He was 10 lbs., 0 oz., and 17 inches. He had lots of brown hair that looked just like Charlie's when he was born, and he had beautiful ocean blue eyes like his daddy's. His lips looked like mine. We love him and miss him so much, but we have felt as though his spirit is still here with us. Our time with him was short but so special. Thanks for your prayers.

I'm so happy that your time with Daniel was peaceful, and my heart breaks for you right now. I wish you could have taken him home with you, happy and healthy. It is my belief that his spirit is indeed still with you. I feel the same way about Lucy...I think she is here with me often. I just can't wait until I can hug her, and kiss her, and tell her face to face how much I love her.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Cora comes to "visit" often, and I can feel when she's near.

What a blessing that you got to spend some time with him before he went on. Did Charlie get to meet his little brother like you were hoping?

Hi again. I don't have any pictures yet because we only had our NILMDTS photographer taking pictures (we wanted everyone else there to not have to worry about that and just enjoy the time with Daniel). We don't have those back yet.

Charlie didn't get to meet him before he died, but it ended up being for the best. Charlie just wasn't ready, and if he had been alive still, I am sure we would have been more anxious to make him interact with the baby and sadder that he wasn't ready to. So it was okay. Later that night when he came back to see us, he had lots of questions and wanted to see all the keepsakes. So he will remember his little brother, and that's what we want.

I am feeling really sad, but that is to be expected. I miss him so much. I know I will see him again and that he is okay, but I just miss him so much.

It's okay to miss him. That never really goes away because you love him. But the amazing thing about the atonement is that you can come to peace with it.

This is one of my favorite quotes ever.

"First, please know that grief is the natural by-product of love. One cannot selflessly love another person and not grieve at his suffering or eventual death. The only way to avoid the grief would be to not experience the love; and it is love that gives life its richness and meaning. Hence, what a grieving parent can expect to receive from the Lord in response to earnest supplication may not necessarily be an elimination of grief so much as a sweet reassurance that, whatever his or her circumstances, one’s child is in the tender care of a loving Heavenly Father."
