It went so well! She was happy and perfect through the whole thing. We had tons of family there, I don't think I've ever seen quite that big of a circle.
My little Princess
I knitted the headband for her, and Keith made her bracelet. It's just white beads on yarn. I thought it would be fun to add a personal touch since I didn't make her dress.
Although things were for the most part perfect, there was some drama. DH's brother in law is just an odd dude. I don't really like him, he's kind of a bum. We didn't specifically invite him to be in the circle. Actually, there were only a couple of people we talked to about it, family just knew they were all welcome. Except him. When everyone was getting up to come to the front he sat there and my FIL told him to come. He responds to this by saying loudly "I wasn't freaking invited! I'm not going somewhere I'm not invited!" His wife Lisa tells him it's fine and he says "Shut up Lisa!" I didn't hear this because I was toward the front, but I was told he was really loud.
Now it could have ended there. He sat in our front room and pouted, and I was fine with that. Let him pout. But my FIL has a tendency for a temper and drama. So of course he has to go outside with him and call him out on it. So they get in a shouting match on my front lawn (again - I was occupied and didn't hear it). So they all leave. Then my FIL comes back later, and DH is outside. He gets out of his car, takes 5 steps toward the house, shakes his head and gets back in his car and drives away. Then he calls DH crying about how he ruined our perfect day, blah blah. It's like, "Dude, you ruined your own day, we actually had a very nice one." Yeesh. Oh well. What's a family event without a little drama?
It really was a wonderful day though, other than the drama it was flawless.
