Hi all! Whenever you move into a new ward, you always get called to give a talk. And... the wife ALWAYS does the "intros". So... here's mine!

My name is Bri. I'm new to this "ward." I'm going to be a mom in a few months... and... hi!

Lame intro talk, I know. But anyway, that's me in a nutshell.

Funny, we moved into our new ward 6 weeks ago and neither of us have been called to speak yet.

Welcome!

edited to add: Matt has 3 callings already though!

Ha! When we move to a new ward we won't speak in church unless we have talked to the bishop. This last ward DH demanded that we would NOT talk...so, we haven't. We don't even have callings after a year too. I don't really like this ward much.

Hi

We've lived here 26 months and have not had to give a talk. I'm not complaining. I think the bishop just doesn't think of us as new. We've known him for years and Jamie was actually once his home teacher (long before the bishop became bishop).

Ward missionary, 4th Sunday EQ teacher, and the chair of the Proclaim the Gospel committee (I've never heard of that committee, but apparently it's a common EQ thing?)

Ummmm I've never heard of that committee either. Sounds cool though! Maybe the EQ got jealous of the RS committees... I'd love to see an EQ Compassionate Service committee. I can just see it. "Okay guys, Brother Smith's wife told him that she doesn't want ANY MORE March Madness in the house. Let's take him out for a game of hoops to cheer him up."

Just kidding... sorta. The EQ activities I remember from Rexburg wards were things like playing Halo on a projector in the gym at the church. LOL.

That is awesome! It is almost as bad as DH asking for the game Diablo for Christmas...Kind of ironic.

HA! Yeah that IS ironic. Too funny. I love gaming, I'm a nerd like that. I always REALLY wanted to go to Halo night with the EQ. Coulda just been a singles ward thing though...

Matt says that there's a Proclaim the Gospel committee that works with ward missionary stuff, and Redeeming the Dead committee that works with ward temple assignments and such, and a Perfecting the Saints committee that does home teaching stuff.

hahahaha, EQ halo nights...sounds so much like Rexburg.
