Have you ever done once a month cooking? I have a few times. The planning always takes so long, though. In October I found Once a Month Mom - Once A Month Cooking | Freezer Cooking | Once A Month Mom Yummy meals and so incredibly easy. I'll be getting the ingredients for my January meals this weekend and cooking over the next week. I do several short sessions when I do my cooking.

I need to do something like this. With my busy schedule, I do alot of fast food which is terrible for me and the kids. But I work 9:30a-6:30p so I do not have the time to prepare meals before or after work. I used to cook alot of crock pot meals, but I don't have preperation time before work anymore so that went out the window. On my every other weekend off, I need to cook meals for the entire month...it would be really beneficial for me and the kids.

I've never done this but it sounds interesting. Do you find that you lose anything by way of flavor or texture when you freeze and reheat? I don't think I have enough freezer space for this. As it is right now I have enough time for cooking daily, and I enjoy cooking usually, so I probably wouldn't do anything like that until I have more kids (aka less time).

No, the texture and flavor stays great. There are some things you can't freeze, but there are books that can tell you what those are and OAMM all the recipes are great. We've got 8 people here (4 adults and 4 kids) so cooking is a big ordeal. It's so nice to have something ready to be heated/finished cooking.

I recently cooked dinner for my whole family (16 people) and I was shocked at how much longer it took to cook for a crowd! I even picked easy recipes! I can't imagine how long it would take to cook for 8 every day. Props to you!
