I will try to post my birth story here quickly. Because of the size of my baby and that he was 11 days early, I'm wondering if I didn't ovulate alot earlier in my cycle than I thought. One other reason for this is I got a glaring bfp at 8dpo which I have never done before. My other babies were closer to 11 dpo with a faint line. Anyway, to the story.

I saw my midwife last Monday for my 38 week appt. She had checked me the week before and I was only 1 cm then. Then this past Monday she checked me again and said, "Whoa, things are really changing!" I was 3 cms, 50% effaced, and a -3 station. With my other babies, whenever I was at 3 cms, I usually went into labor that week. She stripped my membranes that day which caused me to have cramping and contractions that evening along with some bloody show. The bloody show continued Tuesday and Wednesday. On Wednesday I woke up feeling very energetic and made cinnamon rolls and cleaned my upstairs. I wonder if subconsciously I felt like this baby was coming.

On Thursday morning I woke up at 6:30am, stood up, and my water broke! It took me by surprise and we called the midwives. At 7:30 the contractions were finally coming and probably 4 minutes apart. At 8am the midwives arrived and I hopped in the shower. The shower is one of my favorite places to labor in! LOL

At probably 9am I got out of the shower and went to my bed where contractions started coming every couple minutes and were getting harder. Sometime between 9:30 and 10 they checked me since I was having alot of pressure and felt like maybe I should give little pushes. I was about 9cms dilated. So a couple contractions later I started giving little pushes which felt good for a while. Then my lower back started to hurt something fierce. I wonder if my pushing was making the baby's head hit my tailbone. This baby just was not coming and so they said I should get out of bed to try and pee.

So I got out and used the toilet. While I was up, my back felt better so I just leaned against the bed on the floor on my knees. It was only a couple contractions there on the floor when I could feel this baby moving down. There was no stopping it! And there was no time to get on the bed.

That's when my body took over and this little guy came out with about 5 minutes of pushing! It felt so good to have him out of there! AND I did not tear!! I was so excited about that since I've had 3 births where I did tear and they are no fun to recover from.

That's my home birthing story and it was good and short - about 4hours and 20 minutes from when my water broke to when he made his appearance! He was 8 lbs. 15 ozs. and 21 inches long.

Now I can't wait to read your birth stories!

Were you the last one to reply to that thread, 'The last one who replies to this will have a pain free delivery?' LOL.

Sounds like your birth was great! I'm glad you had such a wonderful experience. Congrats on your little guy!!

yahoo, a great story!!!
and i love that, since you were with a midwife, you were allowed to MOVE when you were in pain-- the **** hospital doesn't give a ****.

and maybe he was actually due in january-- that's one big baby! were you early/late with your others, and how big were they?

Thanks for sharing your story! Glad it went quickly at least, even if it wasn't pain free.

Justjaq ~ I'm just now getting around to answering you. Sorry. My other babies have only been 4-5 days early so I'm not sure what happened this time. I was taking Gentle Birth formula so maybe that made him come early. Either way, I'm glad I didn't go much longer. He was big enough!
