Well Dominic came in a hurry and had momma paniced thats for sure! I woke up at 8am on Monday (dec 6) and was going about my usual routine, my 2 sons had slept in longer than usual, I had some cramping but thought my stomach was just upset and I needed to use the bathroom, I didnt think much of it I was getting them dressed and about to get them breakfast when I thought my water had broke. S/o was still asleep and I woke him up saying its time to go in, my water just broke. I was trying to stay calm but at the same time freaking out because of how quickly my labours progress, because my sons are only 2 and 3 I didnt want to freak them out but I went into the bathroom to clean myself up a little bit and I realised it wasnt my water, it was gushes and clots of blood flowing out (sorry maybe tmi) I got completly terrified and told s/o we have to go NOW, so I already had had all the bags packed, we quickly got them together, got the boys ready and into the car and in a hurry dropped them off 5 minutes away at my sisters (well my bf pulled up beeping his horn like crazy banging on her windows and passed them in through the window) lol he was more freaked out than I was. Anyway, we drop them off and we still have to cross a bridge in morning hour traffic (which is quite heavy) we didnt have any change for the bridge and my contractions were starting to get worse and quick, he honked his horn and told them to let him through that his wife was in labour, the toll guy let him through and we sat in traffic on the bridge with our 4 ways going and horn honking for about 10 minutes, some cars moved but most just looked at us like we were crazy, the whole time i'm telling my bf to calm down and that i wanted to get to the hospital alive but he was doing a consitant speed of about 100 kms an hour in a 50 zone and it a total panic. We reached a main street near by the hospital at about 8:30am and an rcmp officer flicked her lights on to pull us over for reckless driving and speeding I would assume, but s/o would not stop, he yelled back to her saying his wife is about to deliver her baby in the car (it literally felt like i was going to) and so the officer said go go go and actually escorted us the rest of the way to the hospital. s/o was driving so fast that 1/2 the way she was a few cars behind us! We got to the intersection by the hospital and an ambulance was leaving to come meet us just in case and a fire truck had the intersection blocked off, by this time I was feeling the contractions hard and they were a minute apart, I jumped out of the car holding my stomach, walked right past the paremedics they had waiting at the doors (they didnt realise it was me they were waiting for) and I walked straight into registration, the nurse there was saying you are going to have to wait a minute we have someone else at the doors about to deliver a baby, so i was like ok, holding my stomach telling my mother who we met at the front doors that I couldnt take the pain anymore, it was getting extremely intense at this point. Finally they realise I was the person they were looking for and come back to registration, I was sent up to L&D and was told I was at 5cms, I got into a johnny shirt and walked down the hall to a delivery room. At the delivery room I felt so much pressure and felt an urge to push, 5 minutes later I was at 6cms, 5 minutes after that it was 7-8 and about 10 minutes after that I was ready to push, a lot of pain and a few select words later, Dominic Zachary Blake was born! 3 pushes and he was out. It was pretty scary tho because when he came out he was choking on blood and a huge gush of blood came out after him. Apparently I had a partial placental abruption and I was lucky it wasnt a full abruption. I was relived that Dominic was okay but at the same time scared to think what could of happand. Dominic was fine, he weighed 8 lbs 8 oz and was born at 9:33am, he was 20 1/2 inches long and 3 weeks early! I can only imagine if he was born on his due date. He was ok although they did have to keep a close eye on him for about 4 hours because he was pooping out blood and they didnt know if it was my blood that he had swallowed or if it was his that was coming out. It turned out it was mine so I was soo greatful for that. He had a bit of bruising on his head from the quick arrival and he was treated for being slighly jaundice but we're finally home now we got released on Thursday evening at 6pm and I was so happy to be home!! Anyway. Quite the story I know and I look back on it now and give myself a hard time for not calling an ambulance! I paniced and just wanted to get there but calling an ambulance probably would of been a better idea. I guess the main thing is that baby Dom and I are ok He is a great baby and hardly cryes unless something is wrong, i'm so in love!! Here are a few pics of him:
