We got to the hospital at about 7am on 12/17/2010. They got me all ready for my c/s, but the doctor hadn't shown up yet at 8:40am (I was scheduled at 8:45). Apparently, he hadn't been reminded that he was doing my c/s, and had already left the hospital. After a mini breakdown, I decided to let the doctor on call from my practice do it, I was all ready and I wanted that baby out, and they couldn't get a hold of my regular OB.... once they got me in the operating room they started to place the spinal... which was about the most miserable thing I have ever had happen. It hurt SO bad and they couldn't get it in far enough, so they decided to go with an epidural. Once that was in, they started the c/s. I swear I felt pain, even though my hands were tingling and the anesthesiologist said there was no way I could... last thing I remember was him saying "see ya later"... I guess they decided to put me completely under, which I was fine with. During the c/s, DH got light headed and almost passed out, so he left. My sister stayed with me and took some pretty cool pictures....
When they started, and for the past few weeks, Jacob had been head down... well, when the OB went to pull him out he did a 180 and flipped... they had to be kinda rough getting in out, so I am pretty sore now, but getting better.
Once I came to in recovery, I met the most handsome 9lb 13oz, 21.5" baby boy I have ever seen. He was absolutely perfect! Even though there were some hang ups before hand, I wouldn't have changed a single thing about my precious baby boy and how he came in to the world...
On a side note, yesterday when I was sitting in my room, my normal OB, who was supposed to do the c/s, came in with an "Opps, I forgot your birthday and I was supposed to bring you in to the world" present. I will admit, I was pretty upset, but everything ended up fine, and I am completely over it... he definitely felt like crap....
