Griffon Mack was born on December 19th, 2010, this was only after some serious persuasion.
I'll start from the beginning. Our due date was set for December 10th, and with measurements in the 99th percentile, we were expecting him early. Well, then 10th came and went- but still no baby. We waited, and waited. 41 weeks passed, and still no baby. We opted for induction.
The induction went smoothly. I got my epi, and stayed happy through the first 22 hours of labor. This all changed once we hit 10 cm and started pushing. Our night nurse, who I will refer to as Nurse Cratchet, was not the most positive or supportive nurse. I pushed as hard as I could for 6 hours. At one point Nurse Cratchet asked "Do you want the baby to come out of here (pointing to my belly) or here (pointing to my vagina), because I don't think you've dedicated yourself enough to this delivery."
I so wanted a vaginal delivery, but Griffer did not progress. The Doc, my husband, and myself decide c-section after a 28 hour labor. He and mama had battle wounds, but it was all worth it in the end.
Griffon Mack is a healthy and happy heavy weight, weighing in at 9 lbs 10 ounces and 21 and a half inches long. He's incredible.
