After my 41 week check up I was sent to the hospital to get cervadil started. After 16 hours, small contraction but no progress, pitocin was started at 10:15 a.m., I was 1 cm. The nurse was coming in every 15 minutes to increase the dosage. Around 11:00 a.m. I was feeling the urge to pee with every contraction, which were beginning to be unbearable. I called the nurse in at 11:15 a.m. as she was about to leave for lunch because I didn't want to pee in bed... When I went to bathroom I couldn't go, but I still felt really weird so I figured my water was going to break. The nurse knocked on the door and asked if I was okay, I said no and she came in to check and apparently was able to see Baby's head I was so confused at that point. We hurried back to bed and I was told to start pushing. I really wanted the epidural at this point but they were saying no! I pushed once and his head was out and once more and the was here at 11:22 a.m.! I couldn't even believe it and no one else could either Baby weighed in at 8lbs 14oz and was 22 inches long. Immediately after his birth I felt amazing. Only a tiny tear which required one stitch and not having the epidural made a huge difference from my first son's birth. SO called my mother and his around 11:30 a.m. to tell them Baby was here and they both thought he was joking. We had planned to have them both there, but it was nice for it to be just us
