Okay, so I've never really been constipated through any of my previous pregnancies, my issues always went the other direction.
but not today. And I'm in so much pain.
Anybody got any suggestions of things I can do without going out to the store to get something? It's so cold and icy right now I just don't want to think about it.

Prenatals always make me constipated, but my doc gave me something with a stool softener already in them.
If you don't have any stool softener at home, you can try apple juice or any type of juice for that matter. Or whole grain cereal, always does the trick for me.

Do you have any oatmeal or raisins? Combine the two and it's like a miracle

I've been drinking a lot of water and juice today. I do have instant oatmeal, is that good enough?

I always get that way when pregnant. Hate it! Yogurt works wonders for me. Also fruit smoothies. You can use frozen fruit, easy to make that way.

Peanut butter always sends me running for the bathroom, as does McDonald's breakfast. I swear, all I need is a sausage biscuit and I might as well have had an enema.

Yep! I think oats must have tons of fiber in them, I was horribly constipated and then I started eating a bowl of instant spiced raisin oatmeal for breakfast every day...and it worked!

I'm like that too. I hate it! I use stool softeners, try to drink more water, and eat fruit. Exercise helps me with that problem when I'm not pregnant, but what is exercise again?

Coffee would be terrible for me! lol I just took half a dose of excedrin tension headache (no ibuprofin) and my hands are shaking. I'm SO sensitive to caffeine! lol (but hey, the headache's gone, so we can't argue, right?)
All the water and juice seems to have helped a little, I got a little relief, but now I've got intestinal cramps...which make me want to throw up. *sigh*
And Rachel, too funny about McDonald's. Everything from McDonald's does that to me too!

yeah, Brittanie! Same thing happens to me too with caffeine, except tea for some reason. However, if I do drink it (even decaf) I end up in the bathroom a half an hour later. I wonder what it is.... hmmm..

Coffee does it for me too, even decaf is enough to send me running to the bathroom! I was a little constipated at the end of my last pregnancy, but it started early this time. It's been better the past week and I'm hoping it stays that way.

I was constipated the first couple weeks of this pg, but it has gotten better. Glad you are doing better, I know oatmeal, raisin bran stuff like that is good to make you go.

Milk of Mag is totally safe and will get the job done. I took a low dose, every other day, thru my entire pregnancy.

So the past few nights I have had a snack that is helping the situation greatly! I have been having a bag (yup, the whole bag myself) of 94% fat free Orville Redenbacher butter popcorn. Each time I have had it, the next morning when I wake up I get super bad gas pains... Once those pass I have to go to the bathroom and there is no straining at all. Must be the fiber in the popcorn. I guess I'll just have to eat a big bag every night now LOL
