When people come up to you and touch your stomach. I am not talking about your BFF or DH, or family. I am talking about strangers in stores, co-workers who are acquaintances at best, etc... It really makes me crazy. I have had 2 people do that to me this week and I just smiled and brushed it off but I really wanted to scream at them, "YOU ARE IN MY SPACE!!!!! YOU WOULD NOT TOUCH ME ON A REGULAR DAY, DON'T TOUCH ME NOW THAT I AM PG!!!"

LOL! YES!!! If someone I don't know at all touches my belly it makes me crazy! I must give people a certain look that says 'stay clear or else' b/c I haven't had that happen with this pregnancy yet.

OMG! It is worse than nails on a chalkboard to me! It really, really, REALLY makes me batty. And I have to say, much more so this time than last time. I am really worried I may not be able to stop myself from yelling at someone not to touch me this time since it has started SOOOOO early on.

Heck yes. It drives me bonkers . I actually say something to people. I don't trust anyone. What if they decide to push in a little or something.. it freaks me out!

It never bothered me with my DD, but I think it was because I wasn't supposed to be able to have kids, than BAM, I got pregnant with her. So, I was just so happy to be pregnant, I loved the attention. No one has done it this pregnancy, but I don't think I care that much. (As long as they aren't "dirty" strangers. Because that's just gross. LOL)

It drives me crazy too. I feel like they are totally invading my space, like if I weren't pg and someone touched my butt or something...yuck!!

I had this happen to me for the first time yesterday. A coworker was passing me in the hall and patted my stomach in passing....I was stunned because I didn't know she knew I was pregnant, so I was like "what is she doing?" It then occurred to me that someone had told her I am pg and she was patting my belly. I'm not sure what I thought of it...I guess it startled me more than anything.

This has not happened to me yet so I can't say what I would do. It doesnt bother me when my coworders do it but a stranger might creep me out a little.

I've never really had a stranger touch my belly, but it really wouldn't bother me. Most people stear away from us in public, because with 8 kiddos we have carts and kids everywhere...maybe they just assume I'm pg again. I guess if someone is excited about me having another baby, I'll take it! Most of our family is not real supportive of us having so many kids, so anyone who wants to celebrate and give God the glory for a miracle, I'm all for it!

I wish they would make maternity shirts that say "Don't touch, under construction". It's so crazy. I mean my husband has a gut, people don't run over to touch him! And I would karate chop them if they did.

I haven't had it happen yet, but back in October, my sister was pregnant with her second child and we were doing our clinicals together in the same hospital and SO many people would touch her belly. I asked her if it bothered her, and she said it did. I imagine I'll be the same way.

There are some websites that have some funny maternity shirts that get that message across, or you can design your own. Just do a google search for "customized maternity t-shirts."
I don't like the idea of strangers touching me. I like my personal space. I haven't had anyone try it yet, but I'm not really showing. I did see a store clerk at the mall touch a pregnant woman's belly the other day and it made me mad for her, so I know I'll get mad if people do it to me.

Oh yes, I am normally very rude and snotty about it too...lol. In the past I have rubbed the other person's belly right back and when they look at me weird or ask me why I say something like "I just wondered what the excitment was about touching a strangers belly". They normally back off then

I haven't had it happen to me yet, but I don't think I'd be too bothered by it (unless it's some creep and then I'd have a HUGE problem).

I do NOT like it. And I think the death stare I give them lets them know that it was a mistake that won't be repeated
The only one I'm ok with touching me is dh.. I have a bubble. Respect it.

I think I have a pretty good *itch vibe because people steer clear of touching me without asking outright. I don't like being touched so it would definitely bother me.

Well, thankfully, it hasn't happened to me yet. At least not by strangers.
But, DH and I have this guy friend who was always touching my belly and telling me that he couldn't believe i'm pregnant. It drove me crazy!!! I yelled at him the other day cus he wouldn't stop although I had asked him repeatedly to stop. We didn't talk to each other for like a week. Then I had DH tell him that I hate it when ppl touch my belly without asking first and he understood.
Sometimes you have to be clear with ppl and they'll respect your space

If it's a stranger, yes and I would say something (DH has said he would too). If it's a friend I wouldn't care.

Agreed!
I haven't had it happen yet, but I imagine it wouldn't bother me unless it was a man. But then, DH would be quick to correct him.
