Somewhere between 3 and 4 weeks. It was pretty heavy for a while at the beginning but I never passed any big clots (thank goodness). I always laugh when I read things that say women bleed for "up to a week." Who the heck are they kidding?

I bled for about 8 weeks and it was really heavy the whole time. This time around there is hardly any bleeding at all.

I bled for 6 and then spotted until 8 weeks.

With my first I bled forever... close to 8 solid weeks of period heavy bleeding and then another couple weeks of spotting...

With my second I had period like bleeding for about 3 weeks and then spotted for 2 weeks....

I really think it was less with #2 because he was exclusively breastfed and that helps shrink the uterus and slows the bleeding faster. I had to supplement ds1 with formula because my milk didn't come in until he was 4 days old and I ended up 1/2 bfing 1/2 formula feeding....

DD2: I am barely spotting now at 3 days pp.

I had a c-section with DD so they suck out a lot of the 'material' during surgery. I had maybe 3-4 days of heavy bleeding and then moderate bleeding for another 10 days or so. At exactly 4 weeks PP AF returned.... (I remember it was my father's birthday LOL) and I was pumping/BFing and supplementing.

With DS I bled heavy for about 2 weeks and then had period type flow for another 3 weeks and then it tapered to spotting for a few days - it was over just a couple days before my 6 wk pp appt. I am expecting about the same with this one. It's no fun at all

maybe 2-3 weeks, plus some heavier discharge that took a panty liner for a few more.
