Does anyone do this? If so, which week do you start bringing your bag? Is this mostly for high risk mommas?

Part of me thinks that if the doc thinks I need to go to the hospital, I would know ahead of time. I can always tell when my BP is up and I certainly would know if I was having contractions. I guess I could just be mega dilated and not know.
The doc's office is next to the hospital, which is 20 min from my house. It'd be a pain to go to the doc, go home to get the stuff, then go back to the hospital.
Maybe I will just keep it in my car.

After about 37 weeks, I'll probably just keep it in the van.

I started bringing one with me at 32 weeks which is when I started my NST's. I am only doing it because I am considered higher risk with twins. I never did bring mine when I was pregnant with DS though.

I'm not planning on bringing my bag with me, and I definitely won't leave it in the car xD (We live in a bit of a bad neighborhood and car break ins are pretty common.. one of the reasons I wasn't sure about an infant car seat was that I was worried the base might disappear... yeah, they'll take anything!) But the hospital and my midwife's office are pretty far apart and our house is kind of in the middle, so even if I do need to head there we can stop at home first. I can't imagine anything that would come up at an appointment that would be so dire I would need to get the hospital ASAP... and even if that did happen, there's one much closer that's like 3 minutes from our house. So any possible way it goes, I'll be able to grab my bag

Probably not... Even if I went to an appointment and was told I was in labor, I might want to go home and relax a little before settling in the hospital... Everything is fairly close by and I'm not too worried... Even if I HAD to go straight to the hospital, I'm sure Dh could just run home and grab our stuff at some point

Now that I have been released from my MFM dr and I am now far enough to deliver at my regular local hospital. I am not bringing my bags with me...I only have one OB appointment and one NST before deliver anyway. Since my local hospital is 3 minutes down the street I am leaving my bags at home. It is very HOT here right now so I don't want my stuff out in the heat anyway. And DH can always swing by and pick them up or even my dad.
I will put my bag in the car on the way to the hospital sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since the hospital I am going to is a little over 2 hours away I started bringing my bags with me last week because I was having some problems and I didn't know where that was going to lead me. As of right now, everything is okay so I'll probably start bringing them again around 34/35 weeks.

The hospital is extremely boring!!! LOL I'd rather go back home and eat (they prob wont let me at the hospital) and just chill in my own house until things really get going...
Unless my water breaks, or I'm extremely dialated, or in tons of pain... I'm thinking I'd go back home if it's just regular contractions and it looks like I had +8 hours ahead of me, KIWM?

Since my doc office is easly 45 minutes drive, I wouldn't be going home, and since no one lives over there, no one to stop by and get it. (someone would go pick up my kids but that's someone who won't be at delivery)
So I'll take it with to my 36 week appt, but not inside, It'll be in the car. just in case (since it looks like I am already dialting, and I have fast labors, very likely that if I am 3+ at any given check I"ll be kept)

I was thinking about putting it in the car but we live so close to the hospital and doctors office that I will just keep it downstairs near the door somewhere. I haven't packed anything yet though. I will most likely wait until 36 weeks.

Yea, I never heard about taking it with you to appointments. Since we're getting close it may be a good idea to keep it in the car from now on. Not so important if you don't plan on rushing to the hospital (like me). But hey, I haven't even started packing so maybe I'm just a lil too relaxed. Haha.

I will be leaving it at home for now... Last time I was induced at 42 1/2 weeks so I am thinking ... worse case scenario my husband can swing home and grab it for me... I didn't even use anything till after the birth anyways..

I've not even packed a bag...or even really thought about packing a bag... Guess that is what the third baby in just over 3 years will do to you! We live fairly close to the hospital, so if I were sent there, I would just send dh to get what we needed. Really mostly just the camera and camcorder, and I'm not going to pack those ahead of time anyways, seeing as I use them almost daily with the other kids.
