I started Khlo on carrots last week. She will get to try some home made pumpkin tomorrow. So far she's doing really good on it and it's actually helping her poo now.

Anyone giving any solids yet?

We gave DD a little bit of avocado mixed with breast milk the other day and she loved it! She hasn't had anything since though, we just wanted to see if she was interested.

Nope - he'll probably get a little something starting around Thanksgiving, but we'll see. He's not really acting interested at this point.

We tried cereal tonight to appease Daddy. Our deal was that if she didn't like it, we would continue to wait. If she did like it, we'd hold off on fruits and veggies, but she could eat the cereal. She loved it! She couldn't get enough, and ate the whole bowl I made her! It is very bittersweet to me.

We tried a tiny bit of banana a couple of days ago but he still has the tongue thrust reflex, so we will hold off until Thanksgiving, when he will be 6 months.

I want to wait until 6 months but Grace is so interested I'm not sure we'll be able to! After she basically begged for 15 minutes (kicking her legs, drooling, staring, talking to my food) I gave her a lick of my hummus the other day and she almost sucked her tongue off. She also loved getting a drink of water out of my glass. I guess we'll see.....

we haven't given him anything yet, either, though he's really interested! he grabs at my food when I'm eating, sometimes even gets handfuls. I figure he'll probably get a taste soon, but we don't plan on really feeding him solids till 6 months.

weve had our daughter on cereal since 3 months when she really started showing interest. Were going to try her something else now, not sure what to start with, but some sort of vegetable.

We waited until our lil' guy was 6 mos. and started him with sweet potato. He didn't like it at first, but the second day we tried it, he came around and seemed to do OK. Three days later we gave him avocado and he LOVED it compared to the sweet potato. Then we tried carrots and he loved those as well. After that we tried oatmeal and he enjoyed that also. So far that's all he's tried. I would have to say his favorite is by far the avocado and it's so easy for me to prepare.

I've been giving Ethan rice cereal mixed with breast milk. I also gave him some pureed lentil and veggie soup which he loved.
