If you've seen my updates on FB about my hubby, please send the prayers. This is so stressful.
Especially without insurance...this hospital stay is outrageous so we don't want surgery...for multiple reasons!
Our sitter even offered to keep BB over night last night. She had her until almost 8pm. Sitter even went last night and bought her new pjs and a new outfit to wear today just in case she had her all night and today. When i picked her up, she had her fed, bathed, and in jammies. She offered to keep her over night tonight, too but we have so many family members that can watch her if need be.
How did I miss this? I really hope he can avoid the surgery Mandy. You're going through a lot! I'm glad you have an amazing babysitter though. Lots of love and hugs to you both.
For the ladies not FB friends: he went in for the colonoscopy on Thursday ( hasn't had a normal bowel movement for about 5 weeks) and they couldn't get the hose in more than about 12 inches. The GI dr said that was an emergency and sent him to the hospital. They immediately admitted him and started blood work and process for CT scan. They were saying they thought his appendix ruptured LAST April!! They were saying diverticulitis, Crohn's disease, or colon cancer. (My dad died of colon cancer and his sister was diagnosed this year.) CT scan said appendix is fine and just one part of his colon is inflamed. Started lots of IV antibiotics. Said probably surgery to remove that part of his colon. Surgeon came in today and said the antibiotics are working for the infection. They said its diverticulitis. So much better than the other things.
Decided to try a PICC line. They put that in today. It was weird. They're going to do 9 days of outpatient antibiotics through the PICC line starting Mon morn. Won't be discharged until Sunday. Can't start light solids until tomorrow so he hasn't eaten since Tuesday. Can't lift anything heavier than a milk jug. He said to me...I can't pick up Brynlee. He sounded so sad. I said, well she can still sit on your lap.
He really wanted to see her yesterday so I got her at 8 and brought her up here for an hour. The nurses oooed and awwed over her cuddling with him in the bed. <3
I, too, am so Thankful for our sitter. When I said I didn't want her to have to keep her so long, she said...that's what friends are for.
Hubby looks skinny!! He went from 263 to 229 in these 5 weeks.
I'm really glad it's just diverticulitis. My mom has it and it's mostly manageable once you figure out what foods to avoid (nuts, anything with seeds, etc). She knows immediately when it starts to flare up and gets antibiotics. Hope he's able to manage it as well as she does!
Oh Mandy how stressful for all you guys. I'm glad they figured out what's going on, and glad it's nothing more serious. Hope he starts feeling better and gets out of the hospital soon. Thought and prayers being sent your way!
Im glad he got It figured out, sorry its ending being such a mess!
Hopefully once he's out he'll be healthy and better.
Is their anything you can apply for with state or hospit to help with thr bill?

Oh HUGS sweetie - that all sounds awful but I am glad you have so many helpful hands around! Your sitter sounds amazing - can I borrow her? LOL.
Hope Joe gets better soon and that the meds work fast - you are all in our thoughts xx
I've been following your updates as well! I bet he really misses Brynlee. Financially, I hope things work out for you. Maybe there is something you can apply for to get some of that off your plate.
All that matters is that DH gets all better and you know what to do in the future so Brynlee has a healthy Daddy to grow up with. Praying for your hubby and family
oh how stressful ((hugs)) and healing thoughts for your dh

I've been following on FB, and I am SO RELIEVE it is the lesser of the possibilities. Regardless, I know it's going to be a difficult time figuring things out, and I will continue to keep you guys in my thoughts!
:-(. I hope he feels better soon. I've struggled with Crohn's in the past and those things are no fun. But at least you have answers and can start to heal/manage it. In the meantime I hope things get back to normal ASAP. Hang in there!!
