I like movies based on actual happenings. One of my favorites would probably be Radio. Very touching story. I also like Remember The Titans.

Shadowlands is one of my favorite based-on-real-life movies Its about CS Lewis and how he met his wife Joy and their marriage. Makes me cry buckets but I love their story

never seen Shadowlands - I'm going to have to get it and watch it. Radio is one that makes me really cry and yet I love the story.

Radio, to me, is a very touching story. I've known grown guys who've cried over it when watching. I actually saw it for the first time in School in Health class. It took two days to watch and the 2nd day I purposely didn't finish a test in my previously class and had to stay and finish the test and not watch the end of radio in Health as I didn't want to cry in class - lol!!

Some movies are that way. The Power of One can be touching.

I showed it to my students years ago--we read the book and one possible writing assignment was to think about why the producers made the changes they did. They pretty much all cried and then got outraged at how different it was from the book because theyloved the book

LOL! Never read the book. But, I hate it when a book is so different from its movie. It's so frustrating as I want to see the book on film, not a changed book on film.

A lot of the changes were political because of when the film was made and the message it was conveying. The differences are pretty interesting when you look at them alongside the history unfolding at the time. It gave a different interpretation to the phrase "the power of one" that better fit the political climate and the goals of the time. I view them as two separate entities with similarities the book is my favorite and I reread it every few years.
