Since Natalie is having her b-day the end of t his month, I need to get some ideas to make sure we can get stuff.

We aren't planning anything big. Her b-day is on memorial day so it will be nice that everyone is out of school and work.
So far, the only thing I can think of is a convertible car seat. Not really a great b-day present but she really needs one now. I'd also like to get some kind of baby walker thingy that she can push.

Are you already making plans? Anything you have on a list that you want to get?

I think it still makes sense to get them things they need when they are turning young ages. Dominic will be getting some clothes and probably 1 or 2 toy items. A car seat is a great idea! But I think he will need a bigger one before he's one :/

I also like to do 1st birthday presents that are needed items. Babies don't care what they get at that age and they usually get toys from relatives so I don't bother buying any extra because I am definitely a toy minimalist!

Hadn't really thought of it. Daniel's birthday is in August, so I'm thinking we'll do a big party for both of them so my family doesn't have to come all the way to my house (I live at least an hour from everyone) twice in a month. Daniel wants to go bowling, so we'll see.

Not early for me! X will be one in about two weeks. We take our kids on a trip for their first birthday. This year, it will be Sea World.

I need to get past Kairi's birthday before I think about it, but I do know as far as gifts go, Alexis doesn't need anything. We have oodles of everything she could want leftover from Kairi. Since she's at an age where she doesn't care about hand me downs or what toy actually belongs to whom, I will likely do a cake with family, and do what Rae does and take her out someplace she'd like to go. Which will probably be a pool or outdoor splash park.

How fun Rae! I think the car seat sounds great. I'm going to get T something practical like clothes or toys or maybe a car seat if we don't have another one by then

i like mamaangies idea of an outdoor splash park .....

i think that at our community pool they are a baby/toddler area and then bigger pools for the older crowd.. i never thought of it before now but i think thats a great idea ..... there is a little booth with food so people can buy something to tide them over til the swim is over ....

i like i t....

if i dont do this ill stick to the lazy plan i had .... reserve the room in the round table for the bday .... to do it is free ... lol ... then just buy pizza open gifts have cake and bam your done easy peasy

OH as far as what i gave to a boy on his first bday .. i gave him mega blocks ... figured you can never have to many of those ...

for roran .... NO IDEA .... he needs nothing ... other then a larger carseat ...but might need that before he is one ... not sure ....

my sister gives me clothing and toys and random stuff all the time .... its nutty .... i have nothing he needs but diapers and wipes ... LOL i can just ask for a buncha those LOL .....

Holy moly...we have babies turning 1 already??? We have accumulated so many toys already that I will probably get her some more clothes. She will probably be more interested in the wrapping paper anyhow :-)

haven't thought much about - will probably try to discourage presents. We'll be celebrating her first with family on Labor Day (I think).

I have no idea! Most likely, we will have a pool party/BBQ to celebrate. Both sets of in-laws have pools so it's a matter of deciding where to have it....I am guessing at MIL's since all of her sisters and kids will come (they have a huge freaking family). Then of course I plan to have a cake or cupcakes and her own smashcake (I think that's so funny).

As far as gifts, I don't know yet what we will get her. Her birthday is July 27th so I am happy that I will be out for the summer and get to spend the day with her. We had to get her a big girl car seat a long time ago so she won't need one of those. She has plenty of clothes and toys...

I don't know! Arrrrg.

I don't know either! We will probably have both sides of the family come here for a BBQ or something.

Savannah will have her own smash cake for sure! I love that too.

For gifts from us: I haven't really thought about that yet. Probably stuff she needs....whatever that might be at that point in time.

I'll probably put an outfit in a gift bag so she can eat the bag

That's what Nattie does too.
My kids want to go rollerskating. For some reason, I think they'd enjoy it more than Natalie would.

Thinking of a BBQ with family and his play group. My Niece had her bday at an indoor play thingy this weekend Zaden could only enjoy a swung so not sure that will work for him.
