This is not baby related at all, but I thought maybe you ladies would have advice. For the past couple months I have been waking up with a horrible headache every morning. It seems to get better as the day goes on. I just assumed it had somehing to do with the pollen levels and allergies. Now for the past 3 days I get a sharp stabbing headache on the right side of my head when I stand up and walk a couple steps. It's weird because it generally goes away after a minute, and when I am laying down or sitting still, I 'm fine. It happens EVERY time I get up and it is starting to concern me. Anyone have experience with these type of headaches? I might end up calling a doctor if it continues into Monday.

Is it possible it could be blood pressure? The only reason I say that is because it bothers you when you first stand up. I'd definately call the doctor if it continues.

I would call. I say this because something like this happened to me a few years back and it took forever to get this, that, and the other test done to narrow the problem down. It ended up going away, and all the tests I took can back negative... one of the things I did was go for an eye test, and changed my prescription ever so slightly. I think it did make an impact. Int he end my Dr. chalked it up to stress, but still, if it had been something, it would have taken awhile to figure it out. So I think it's best to get at it right away! I hope you get some relief soon!

Definitely give a call to your doctor. I know everyone has a friend who...you know how it goes. But my co-worker/friend did what Angie said and had tons of tests after tests to figure out what's wrong and her headaches are exactly what you describe...even the thinking it was allergy issues. She had a small tumor (non-cancerous) on her cerebellum. It was causing a lot of issues for her.

Go see a doctor. Oh, and DEFINITELY get a BP check. My BP was high when I was at my heaviest and I had very similar symptoms.

Can you get to Walgreens or CVS to take your bp? Are you getting enough water? I don't have experience with that type of headache, but I do suffer from headaches. Not getting enough water is usually enough to bring one on.

I agree, it sounds like a bp problem to me. I'd put in a call to your doctor just to be safe!

I actually have been drinking plenty of water lately. The only time I have ever had my bp checked was when I was pregnant, and it was always pretty low. I guess I can check myself at one of those bp machines that they have at Walmart.

I was also going to say maybe you might need a new pillow. I know when my pillow gets old i wake up with headaches. Could one of your sinuses be clogged? I've read that this year allergies are way up b/c of all the wonky weather.

Might be on the safe side though to call your dr if this continues just to rule out anything major.

^this was me too! Mine was a tumor. I thought it was allergies as well. Pregnancy hormones can sometimes kick off a growth spurt in some kinds of tumors. Not to scare you just get it checked out, definitely. Could be any number of things and not necessarily a tumor!

It could be a bunch of things. Blood pressure, blood sugar, dehydration, allergies, pregnancy, needing glasses plus hundreds of other things. I would go get checked out.

Oksy so I checked my blood pressure and it's normal 102/55. It seems better now in that it doesnt't just hurt when I stand up. Now it is just a normal headache. I might still call a doctor on Monday depending on how bad it is. Thanks for the advice everyone!

I got headaches like that before I started seeing a chiropractor regularly. I was the same way, getting a new pillow, etc. Well, my neck curve was going THE WRONG DIRECTION and it was squishing all the nerves and seriously freaking out the muscles. Now, a year and a half later, I rarely get headaches like that anymore.
