yay, I got something like that going. Just trying to tie it all in....

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me yesterday regarding the ** position at ** School. I enjoyed learning about your school. I was impressed you switched the grade level teams from homogeneous grouping to heterogeneous. It is something that is still frequently practiced in many school districts, so it was refreshing to know you made the change for McHenry.

I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss the position

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to word the good fit part...

Oh, for the other people on the committee, I can just write a brief thank you, right?

A thank you is a good spot to add anything you forgot(or flubbed) during the interview. Keep it short though.
For example: if you were a team lead on a company project that helped your former business win a large grant, but were too nervous in the interview to remember to bring it up write your letter like this:

To (always use correct name and title):
Thanks for the opportunity...blah, blah, blah
I believe I'm a good asset to your company because of blah, blah, and blah(organization, responsibility, flexibility-or whatever positive adjectives describe you).
Due to my recent success at Blank Company where I was the team lead for the Blank project and was able to secure a large grant, I believe this shows I have the leadership and skills to fit into your company.
I look forward to hearing back from you. Feel free to contact me with any further questions.
Sincerely, Dee Darling

oh oops, jsut saw your update and see you are working at a school. Same idea, add something about how you will fit into the school based on something you've done recently.
If it is an electronic thank you, send it to the boss/principal and reference the interview team in the heading. She will forward it on.

Thanks! I know the "rules", but always hate the idea of "selling" myself in interviews and thank you notes since it usually seems more like bragging.
