I really do like the way the posting contests seem to be just a bunch of women hanging out, talking about whatever occurs to any of us at that moment. I think its brought more of a community feeling to this board for me. But at the same time, is the board postings slowing down because we are chatting it up in the contest threads? Or maybe just the time of year, mammas are getting busy outside?
Wondering what you ladies think?
I love the contest chat threads. I feel like I've gotten to know some of you ladies a ton better than I did before.
I think maybe everyone is getting busy, especially with school being out now and such. I think the contest threads give even busy moms a way to pop in and say hi when they can.

In my experience, this is a very slow time of year for the boards. I love the contests, but I was thinking we could take July off from a contest and just have one chat thread. I know there are members who I have never posted with since we started these contests and I feel like I'm missing out on getting to know some better.
I hate them. I don't like the way they devide everyone into groups. I feel you miss out on the info and fun of the other groups. I like the idea of one big chat thread.
also i can understand it dividing people from eachothers conversations BUT you are in a diff group later so you can catch up with the other ladies next posting war ........ just my 2 cents
I've been busy most of this month since I just got married last week but I can join in more while my DH is away at work but of course when hes home i'm not on JM much, but I like the idea of one big chat thread for july.
I like the idea of one, but it might be hard to keep up with.
I agree that other posts have been very slow
i feel like i post alot in these things but my group doesn't always win ..... im not upset im more shocked since i feel the posting goes like crazy LOL
I don't mind the chat threads. I wouldn't say that I enjoy them though. But I don't think they divide us or anything like that. That doesn't make much sense to me. I do think the chat threads are one reason it's getting slow around here. It's always slow on the weekends, but nice weather keeps families busy.

I love the chat threads, but I like rachel's idea of just one for july.
I know I've been posting a lot less between school being out, weather being nice, Katelyn being a handful, and having a 3rd kid most of the time.
Some days I don't get on at all.

I think they are great! It has really given me a chance to get to know some of the ladies on here better and I enjoy having a place to go and talk about whatever is on your mind etc. I think the boards are just slow anyways during the summer.

It's really hard for me to get on them. It takes so long to catch up and read the past posts. I enjoyed posting when I had sometime the other week. I do feel like the board has slowed down since they started, but that is when the weather also started getting nicer. So it's probably both.
I haven't posted this month because June has been super crazy.
