Miles was diagnosed with HFMD earlier this week, which explains why he's been such a jerk recently . Anyway, when I took him to the doctor he didn't have any rash on his body, just a couple of sores in his mouth and a high fever. Well, now he's developing a rash but it's only showing up on his legs, butt, torso, cheeks....pretty much anywhere but his hands, feet, or mouth. They are little raised, red bumps that almost look like pimples. Is this typical? Or is he possibly sick with something else other than HFMD? We're still dealing with a high fever which apparently is not characteristic of HFMD either. Not sure what to make of it all. And of course it's the weekend so it's not like I can take him in to be seen until Monday anyway.

It's typical. They call It hand foot and mouth because the worst sores are in those places.
It's actually a form of Coxsackie virus.
