I was about to make the switch to a home daycare for my kids. The lady I've known for several years and it would have been just my 3 kids - she would even take/pick up M from school. This would have made my schedule possible and saved us money.

Well her husband just got transferred 4 hours away. :crying:

So now I have very few choices.

-go back where we were (at a center) that has lost my friend, the director, and several excellent teachers. This is the expensive option, but also very challenging for me since I will have to rely on a teacher friend at M's school to watch her before school everyday for an hour. It also will be extremely challenging for me to get to my school on time w/ the two stop drop offs.

-Try to find a home care provider for both K and little rose that can maybe get M to school (doubt it, since who would I trust), and maybe arrange for a pick up.

-Put M in the before/after school care (costs money and isn't run by teachers/staff) at her school, and the others in either home or center care - but still have the same problem since 6:30 is the earliest time for the school care and center care. I start at 7 am, which means I need to be there at 6:45-6:50.

I am sitting here on the verge of tears about this. I start school in less than 2 weeks and (like all of you) am super picky about who watches my kids.

It was so much easier when they were all at the center and my friend was the director (some discounts for me). This whole school thing with younger kids and a crappy work schedule is the pits!

Good news, I have at least until the end of September with my friend watching the kids. A little sigh of relief.
