The good thing is she won't know the different at such an early age. I know we did a small little party at church last night but her big main party is also 2 wks away. She'll be 1 tomorrow and I won't actually give her anything on her actual b-day as we will be camping and don't want to pack something else. However, I did for her small party wrap somethings that I recently bought for her and then gave them to her (like new clothes that she hasn't worn yet and a toy that I picked up at a yard sale that we didn't give her yet). I just wrapped them so she could have the fun of opening more gifts. Maybe you could do something like that?
Matthew will only be getting one gift from us and that's it. We asked for his party that people help us stuff the suitcase for the orphanage in Africa. I figured Matthew is pretty darn blessed with all the "stuff" that he has, he really didn't need more and so many babies need things like toothbrushes and socks.
I know she won't remember it, and I know in 2 weeks she's having a BIG party, but I feel guilty that all we're doing tonight is cupcakes and one prezzie....
I might have to give her both of her presents tonight, and pick her up something else for her "big" party.
I know I know, it's stupid.
Well....cupcakes are one of the BEST treats ever besides homemade chocolate chip cookies. Cupcakes are even used at weddings in replace of a traditional cake.
I dont know what a "prezzie" is but I do know that whats important is the time you have taken to bake the cupcakes and the prezzie along with the special attention from the rest of family towards her. Plus she gets a 'BIG' party later....defo cant go wrong with that...
She was perfectly happy with her cupcake and a gift. She doesn't know it's all that was done for the day. She sat really well while we sang happy birthday with a big grin on her face, like she knew exactly what was going on.
