Grr....she just got over a cold about 2 weeks ago and now she is sick again. I swear everytime we go around my nephews, she gets sick within a few days.
I think her throat hurts...she won't close her mouth and is just letting the drool pour out because she doesn't want to swallow. Her nose is a little stuffy/runny. My biggest concern is that she doesn't want to eat. Yesterday, she had a bottle at 7am and then wouldn't eat or drink anything until 5pm. This morning she drank her bottle and won't take anything else or even more milk yet.
Argh...any pointers? She is breaking my heart.
I'm sorry she is sick again. As long as she is drinking her milk I would try not to worry TOO much. You can give Tylenol or Advil to help with her throat... we did that when Kaylee was sick and pointing to her throat and crying. You can also try freezies or popsicles to help with the pain.
Kaylee actually JUST stopped coughing two days ago from a cold she had a while back... and last night she started with a runny nose again Worst part for me is that my mom (who watches her twice a week) constantly sends me text messages saying, "Kaylee has ANOTHER cold? That's not normal!!" What would you like me to do? Do you not think I would take it away from her if I could? She thinks I should bring her to the doctor every time she has a runny nose. There is NOTHING you can do for kids with colds. Ugh.
Sorry. But yah, I know how you feel to have a continuously sick kid
Thanks! I know, my mom is like that too. She kept asking me "Are you taking her to the dr?" and I kept telling her "Unless you think it is Strep throat...probably not..there's nothing they can do!". Actually, after I typed this....Kelsey wanted some of the cookie I was eating so I gave it to her and then she took the bottle of milk that she kept refusing....and then decided to eat some fruit too. Now, she is smiling again and "talking" and not just sitting there with her mouth open with drool pouring out. She must have thought it was going to be worse to swallow than it was. She did that yesterday and was only good for about an hour afterward so hopefully today, she just continues to be better.
