I've decided it's time to take charge and start a journal. This will help me see progress and my emotions throughout this weight loss journal.
I'm a 27 (28 in May) year old mommy to a beautiful little girl Bella who was born 10/21/09 (5 months old now). She is my first child. My DH is Dan and he is fantastic.
I made it to 38 weeks before delivering Bella with lots of bumps along the way. First, I was pregnant with twins and over the moon!! At my first tri screening (12 weeks) I found out one didn't make it and was completely devastated. Mostly because I've never experienced a loss and told EVERYONE I knew I was having twins. It was a really hard thing to cope with but I knew I had a very healthy baby still growing strong, which helped me keeping going. I also was gestational diabetic. I thankfully only gained 25lbs but I hardly worked out (I was petrified I would do something to harm my other baby...crazy, I know but I couldn't help it). So I loss alllll my muscle tone. I should preface this with I have never had a weight problem and liked working out, keeping fit.
So, I weighed 175lbs the day I delivered Bella. 9 days post partum I was down 20lbs and STOKED! I was also breastfeeding/pumping. After a month I stopped (stupid me) and gained 5 of it back. So I started this weight loss journey at 160lbs. To date, I'm down to 155lbs.
I started weight watchers the first week in January and have only lost 5lbs in almost 3 months. Last week I decided to join a gym and get my butt in gear. My friend is super athletic and is my workout buddy so I have awesome motivation. I was hoping to be down to 150 (my pre-preg weight) by the end of April (for a wedding I"m going to) and then to lose 10 more to be at a comfortable weight (i've always stayed between 135-140 in my adult years).
Here are my measurements that I took today:
lower ab: 37"
I took photos of myself the beginning of Feb but I pretty much still look the same. I'll post them later because my work blocks photobucket.
can't believe I'm posting these (stretchmarks and all!!)
Thanks for reading about my story and I hope to have a great success in my fitness/weight loss journey!
So this week's weight sucks! Last week was 155 and yesterday was 158. I am chalking it up to my new workout regimen. I'm doing a ton more weights than before so I think my muscles are retaining water. Plus, AF should be here at some point so I think I'm bloated because of that. Next week I'm really going to watch my carb intake and see if that helps any as well.
well AF did come but I'm still at 157. I've stopped weight watchers and I'm going to lower my carb intake. That is what seems to work best for me. I'm starting today. HOPEFULLY I'll be down 2 pounds by next weekend! If I do this and my weight still hasn't budged, I'm going to have bloodwork done to rule out a thyroid issue.
