So, it's time for me to get back into shape!! My third (and last) baby is 20+ months old, so I no longer have any excuses.

Every Monday I plan to weigh and photograph myself and post here, so I'll be accountable AND have a place to share how awesome I'm doing!!

I am 149 lbs at 5'4. I'm starting with the 30 Day Shred. Did my first day today!

I want to get down to 135, then maybe 130. I'll see how I look and feel at 135 and decide.



(It totally looks like i'm sucking my stomach in, but i was really trying to get a photo without the mirror line in it, so that's why my posture is all weird!)

Day 8

Completed 8 days of Level One of 30 Day Shred. The workout has gotten much easier, though it is still a good workout for me, my flexibility has gotten better, and I feel great! I plan to stick with Level One for another week, then try Level 2.

Day 15

Weight: 146.5 (down 2.5 lbs)

Did Day 15 of 30 Day Shred. I definitely feel stronger and have more endurance. And my clothes fit better! (Shorts I could barely button two weeks ago go on easy now, even straight out of the dryer! )

So despite the fact that the weight is coming off slower than I'd like, I feel good. I just have to remember that it's not realistic for me to lose, say, 5 pounds a week!

Day 22

Weight: 144 (down 5 lbs!!)

Did Day 22 of 30 Day Shred, though I missed one day last week (so is it really Day 21? Whatevs!). I'm doing Level 1 with Level 2 mixed in some days. Level 2 is much harder, and harder on the knees, so I have to really concentrate on proper form so I don't hurt them. (I have a history of bad knees ever since having kids. Good thing they're so cute. ).

Day 29

Current Weight: 144 (the same! no loss! boo!)

BUT, I feel good. I am on Day 29 of the 30 Day Shred, and have only skipped two days so far. I have "graduated" to Level 2, and will start mixing in some Level 3 Days once in a while. (I must add that I have to do modified on some of the moves on Level 2, and for some of the strength moves I use soup cans instead of hand weights. But I'm definitely getting stronger!)

Day 36

Current Weight: 133.5 (down 5.5 lbs total), only .5 this week

So, I'd like the weight loss to pick up a bit (though I know I'm building muscle too, but still), so I'm upping the exercise. I'm ready!

Doing 30DayShred once a day for the first month was adequate for me, coming from doing no "real" exercise at all. Now, I'm going to continue doing 30DayShred once a day, PLUS at least 3 days a week additionally walking/jogging (for at least 2 miles) OR doing an extra 30DS workout.

Still looking and feeling great! Woohoo!

Monday, June 20: 30DS Level 1 & Walk/Jog (walked .25, jogged 1, walked .75)

Tuesday, June 21: 30DS Level 1 (should have done 2, but felt lazy!! bad me!)

Wednesday, June 22: Walk/Jog (walk .25, jog 1.5, walk 1.25 = 3 total)

Thursday, June 23: 30DS Level 3

Friday, June 24: Walk/Jog (walk .25, jog 1.75, walk 1 = 3 total)

Saturday, June 25: Rest day!

Sunday, June 26: Walk 5 minutes, jog 25 minutes (not on treadmill so not sure of distance), walk 5 minutes

Current weight: 142.5 (down 6.5 total)

Feeling fab! Had a great week of workouts. I feel really strong, and my start back into jogging is going well. I think the 30DS helped strenghthen me in general, and my legs specifically, so it's going really well. I just have to remember not to push it too hard. Slow and steady is the way to build up running endurance!

Looking forward to my workouts this week!

Day 57 (yesterday)

Okay, so I'm not doing a weigh-in or photos this week (had a bad exercise/eating weekend camping), but I'm still tracking exercise:

Monday, 7/11: 30DS Level 1

Tuesday, 7/12: 30DS Level 1/3 (Did a combination of both)

Wednesday, 7/13: Walk .5, Jog 2, Walk .5 = Total 3 miles

Thursday, 7/14: Forced fay off - blahhh!!! Weird shin pain (not shin splints) - please let it not be stress fracture!! Taking it easy for a few days....

Friday, 7/15: Recumbent bike for 40 minutes + strength and abs from 30DS (low impact only)

Saturday, 7/16: Rec bike for 40 minutes + strength and abs from 30DS (low impact only)

Sunday: Walk .5, Jog 1, Walk .5 = Total 2 miles

Day 64

Current weight: 140.5 (almost in the 130s!!!)

Here are photos from today:


Feeling great! Having a little shin pain, but I'm fairly sure it's due to a little overuse. It's not shin splints, and I *think* and am hopeful that it's not stress fractures. Sticking to low-impact for the last few days has helped a lot, as has stretching frequently.



Workouts this week:

Monday, 7/18: 30DS, my own combo of Levels 1 & 3

Tuesday, 7/19: Walk 1, Jog 2, Walk 1 = Total 3 miles (new shoes!!)

Wednesday, 7/20: Rest Day (left shin pain)

Thursday, 7/21: Walk .5, Jog 1, Walk .5 = Total 2 miles

Friday, 7/22: 30DS (my own combo of Levels 1 & 3)

Saturday, 7/23: Walk .5, Jog 2, Walk .5 = Total 3 miles

Sunday, 7/24: Another Rest Day (yikes! but felt really tired...)

Day 71

Not weighing myself this week. Too much focus on weight, so I'm just going on how strong I feel and how my clothes fit. Feeling awesome!!
